VfL Lübeck-Schwartau: 29:27 victory over Florence on the Elbe after a great race to catch up

After three years back in the Hansehalle, country manager Daniel Günther predicted a 28:23 victory for VfL Lübeck-Schwartau in the 2nd handball league over HC Elbflorenz Dresden. “It will be a win with at least five goals, I’m sure of that,” he added. The MP, former right winger of Eckernförder SV, even wanted to lend a hand himself. “If I’m needed, I’ll be there for the last ten minutes,” said Günther with a wink. The jersey with the number ten came with it right before the game. But he didn’t need his help. VfL won after a big fight not with plus five, but with 29:27 (14:15). And that after a great race to catch up, in which VfL made up a three-goal deficit (20: 23/45.). “That was a victory for morale,” said coach Piotr Przybecki happily, “just when things weren’t going that way, the boys knelt even more and fought hard.”
Günther: No more ghost games
