New update from Battlefield nerfts overpowering vehicles: “Are no more tanks on crack, Hallelujah!”

With the first major update, the developers of Battlefield 2042 have fine-tuned many problems that have been bothering fans since the release. These include the hovercraft or hovercraft. According to the players, they were way too strong before and are now much more pleasant.

What kind of update is that? The patch for Battlefield 2042, simply called “Update # 2”, was released today, November 25th, 2021. The developers have addressed a number of problems here, such as the incorrect distribution of assault rifles and other weapons.

One particularly big point, however, was the hovercraft, one of the different vehicles in the game. For various reasons, these were considered too strong and the development team had already promised beforehand to nerfen the hovercraft. That has now happened.

Along with the update, the developers promised a bunch of corrections for the future. The update came with a roadmap that addressed over 200 improvements.

What was the problem with the vehicles? Hovercrafts were previously heavily armored and withstood similarly strong fire as a real tank. At the same time, however, they were faster than a jeep, extremely mobile and more dangerous:

  • 4 people have space in a hovercraft
  • 3 weapons can be used, one by each occupant except the driver
  • the people remain largely protected because the weapons are controlled from within
  • the windows are extremely small, which makes meeting inmates extremely difficult

In addition, the hovercraft had a few bugs that looked like “special properties”: they could just climb walls and fly through the air. No other vehicle was as strong.

Hovercrafts are no longer OP: “Hallelujah!”

This is how strong the hovercraft are now: As a reddit user shows with a meaningful clip, only two rockets are now enough to turn off a hovercraft. This means that the vehicles are significantly less dangerous than before:

In addition, the hovercrafts are apparently being damaged by other sources, such as the guns of other hovercraft. So the armor class has decreased, which further weakens the vehicles.

The community is happy to respond. The highest rated comment is simply: “Good”. An answer to this goes a little further. InHaalandWeTrust writes: “They are no longer tanks on crack. Hallelujah! “

By the way: You can also target the hovercraft with the M5 if they have been previously marked with another player’s SOFLAM gadget. With the right loadout, this can even be done on its own and is currently popular for getting helicopters out of the air:

Air defense loadout in Battlefield 2042 is almost unfair: “It shouldn’t work that way”

What else will change in Battlefield 2042? Another major change to the game is the spread of assault rifles. This was too high at the release of Battlefield 2042 and made the weapons almost useless.

However, the error has now been resolved. The popular weapon is finally competitive again. Players are happy that shots that are properly aimed hit again. Some believe that Battlefield 2042 is now significantly better, if not yet perfect.

With the more powerful assault rifles, however, the formerly most popular weapon has also lost its post and received a nerf. However, this makes the selection of useful weapons significantly wider:
