There is also a secret gift function in Pokémon Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl, with which you can redeem codes and receive secret gifts. However, the feature is not yet active at the beginning of the game, you have to activate it first. We’ll clarify how this works here.

Unlock secret gifts in Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl

This is what it’s about: With the secret gifts function, you can receive certain extras from the developers via code or simply via the Internet, which are called secret gifts. In order to be able to redeem codes, you have to activate the function first. There are two ways to do this.

How to unlock it: Either you activate the secret gift function quite early if you pay a visit to the TV station in Jubelstadt. Or you can do it later, but to a certain extent automatically, when you win the medal in Schleiede.

  • At Jubelstadt TV: In the Jubelstadt TV building you will meet the producer on the second floor who wants to know what your favorite TV show is. If you answer with “EVERYONE HAPPY Wi-Fi CONNECTION”, he will activate the secret gift option in the menu for you.
  • In Schleiede: You don’t necessarily have to go back to Jubelstadt, you can unlock the secret gifts later. If you win the third medal in Schleiede, you will automatically get the secret gift option in the menu.

This is how you use the secret gifts function

The secret gift option in your menu offers two different options. You can either get things directly from the development studio if you choose “Receive via Internet”, or you can enter a serial code or a password.

  • Receive secret gifts via the Internet: If you are connected to the internet, you can choose the gifts. You don’t need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription for this. You can pick up an egg from which the Mysterious Pokémon Manaphy will hatch until February 21, 2022. There is also an outfit in Pokémon platinum look.
  • Receive via serial code / password: If you have a code or password, you can redeem it here. Such codes have been published repeatedly in the past and this should also be the case with Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

12 quick balls and 100 Pokéballs already available via code

Two codes you might already have it: Anyone who has bought one of the two Pokémon editions in the eShop can redeem their code for 12 Flottballs until February 21, 2022.

Anyone who bought the double pack with both editions should have received a code that can also be redeemed by February 21st and gives you 100 Poké Balls.
