Battlefield 2042 is divided into the three game modes All-Out Warfare, Hazard Zone and Portal. The latter offers battles based on old Battlefield parts, in which the players can compete for victory according to their own rules. In addition to these self-created matches, DICE also provides experiences that are now made possible by a team deathmatch between Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 have been expanded.

Team Deathmatch from an old perspective

What’s the matter? In DICE’s portal experience, players can enter battles based on the titles Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3. However, the matches do not take place on the maps of the old parts, but on small areas of the seven new maps of Battlefield 2042. The mode is based on 16-vs-16 team deathmatch. What’s so special? The advantage over the community experiences is that you can collect experience points and unlock items in those from DICE. Currently, this is only possible to a limited extent in the games created by the players themselves, as it involves Bot-Maps otherwise too easy to farm XP.

Since the matches only take place on small parts of the seven Battlefield 2042 maps, you shouldn’t hope for the physics of destruction of the reissued classics, as can be experienced, for example, in Bad Company 2 Rush via portal.

That’s what Battlefield Portal is all about

Portal is a construction kit in which the players themselves can create so-called experiences with their own rules, maps, weapons, vehicles and more. The basis for the craft kit are the titles Battlefield 2042, Bad Company 2, Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 3. The specially created games can be shared with other people via a web platform. If you don’t want to do handicrafts yourself, you can simply use the mode to access community experiences and experience battles of a different kind.

In addition, DICE itself provides experiences, such as the already mentioned Rush from Bad Company 2. The mode should play like it did back then, but comes with revised graphics and other updates as a new edition.
