Patch notes for Battlefield 2042 Update # 3 promise improvements

This is in the update: According to the announcement tweet, this is the biggest update to date for Battlefield 2042. Several areas are being worked on:

  • There are bug fixes and gameplay changes
  • The update offers “Quality of Life” improvements that should make your gaming experience easier.
  • The UI is adjusted.
  • The portal mode is also rotated again

In detail, this results in a large number of changes, which we summarize here.

Missions: Among other things, weekly missions are to be unlocked in the week after the update. You get 3 of these every week – and every degree brings you XP. If you pack them all, you will end up with a special cosmetic.

Portal: There will be new game mode layouts on the All-Out Warfare maps and new templates in the builder. For example, you can play the rush mode on All-Out Warfare Maps. In addition, you can then create a mode called Vehicle Death Match, in which you mess with each other with the vehicles of Battlefield 2042.

Quality of Life: There are several points here that need to be adjusted.

  • If you look at your collection, you can adjust your loadout faster, for example. Among other things, it can be seen more clearly which attachments are currently blocked, in use, usable or freshly activated.
  • The UI has been adjusted so that the view is clearer. Among other things, symbols in the game world now scale with distance so that it is less chaotic.
  • You get indicators of where you can revive nearby players, who is low on ammunition or who is low on health.
  • In addition, the transitions between menus should run more smoothly.

In the game: The developers speak of over 150 individual adjustments, changes and improvements on all maps that disrupted the gameplay. This could include spawning, visual errors, or other issues. Problems at the specialists were also resolved. If you’re looking for the full, long list of customizations, check out EA’s patch notes here (via EA.com).

In addition, another update should go live in December, but it should be smaller overall. That will then revolve around further changes to the game balance and bug fixes.

Another discussion that players recently started was the subject of “mouse & keyboard” – some players would like to use them on the console, but this has not yet been possible. More than 10,000 fans have now signed a petition that this should change.
