What are shaders in Minecraft? Many people associate the “block game” Minecraft with its angular graphics, which take getting used to. You can upgrade them with resource packs, but in combination with Minecraft shaders you get really nice, modern graphics in the game.
You can simply download the shaders and add them to your game. In this overview we show you nice shaders that work with the new Minecraft version 1.18 for “Caves & Cliffs”. Since the selection of shaders is very wide, we try to incorporate a lot of variety.
Now install OptiFine or Forge (you need Java for this, which you can download for free).
In the example of OptiFine you start your Minecraft after the installation, then the program is displayed in the launcher on the left side of the game version and with it you start your Minecraft.
If you look in Minecraft under Options and then Graphics, you will now find the Shader item.
If you click on the shader folder there, the folder opens on your system in which you add the downloaded shaders from our list as a zip file. Then select the appropriate shader in the graphics options and you can play Minecraft with it.

What kind of shader is that? “SEUS” stands for Sonic Ether’s Unbelievable Shaders. On the website there are various mods from the developer that bring you various improvements and more or less load your PC. We tried the “SEUS Renewed” pack in the test. It works with very few resources and still brings you strong, visual differences.
The graphical improvements are not exaggerated, but appear gentle and realistic. Those who prefer this approach in their Minecraft world are well served with this shader.

Oceano Shaders for the water lover
What kind of shader is that? The Oceano shader makes your water in Minecraft beautiful and realistic. The light is reflected on it fantastic. If you generally spend a lot of time on the water in Minecraft and go boating or prefer to play on islands close to the water, then Oceano Shaders can significantly improve your experience.
The Oceano Shader also makes some improvements away from the water and breathes fresh colors and soft lighting into nature.

Sildurs shaders with nice reflections

TME for powerful gaming PCs with a lot of performance
What kind of shader is that? The abbreviation TME stands for “Too Many Effects”. The developers explain to the shader that it doesn’t matter how many FPS you play with. It is important to them that the picture looks nice and that you get the maximum effects out of the game. Above all, the surfaces and water are the strengths of the shader.
So that your computer can handle the shader, you should have installed a powerful graphics card.

Naelego’s Cel Shader for Borderlands imitation
What kind of shader is that? With Naelegos shader you conjure up a comic graphic to your Minecraft. Essentially, objects, animals and other content are outlined. The shader is reminiscent of the typical style of Borderlands games. The shader also tickles bright colors from your game. When trying it out, however, we experienced some stutters when we quickly flew over the map in creative mode.

Continuum shaders for those who like it realistic
What kind of shader is that? The Continuum shader belongs to the top of the list of realistic shaders. On the water you can see beautiful reflections and the clouds in the sky look like they are real. With the natural colors it feels like Minecraft has suddenly become much more modern.
The normal version of the mod needs a lot of power from your computer. If your PC can’t offer that, but you still want to try out the shader, you can grab a lite version on the website and install it.
