Destiny 2 brings important changes that will greatly improve your loadouts and builds

After the announcement in Destiny 2 that players expected more build-crafting in December, the community was skeptical. Between creative builds and loadouts stood the high cost. In the last TWaB blog, Bungie has now reacted and with the update on December 7th brings the long-awaited “Quality of Life” change.

The upcoming changes to skills and cooldowns have raised some concerns in the community. The big balance update could mean that average gamers might no longer be able to afford the endgame. Long-time players would also need more loadouts and would also have to invest a lot in them. That leads to:

  • Too high a cost of changing mods
  • Not everyone can afford a wide variety of masterpiece armor
  • The cost of the artifact increases with each reset
  • Destiny 2 does not have its own loadout system where builds can be saved

All reasons according to the Destiny 2 community, Would get in the way of Bungie’s desire for more creative freedom. The players mainly discussed the option that in this context it would make sense to at least omit the mica costs for mods.

You will soon no longer have to pay anything to swap mods.

Bungie fulfills the community’s wish: Im TWAB (This Week at Bungie vom 02. Dezember) the developer has now responded to players’ concerns and announced that these costs will no longer be a problem in the future.

Starting next week, you can swap your armor mods immediately and at any time without the need for mica or other currencies. The team’s goal is to make build-making in no time at all, whether you’re going into a PvP match or preparing for a dawn.

A message that to the Destiny 2 community on reddit was well received. So the player writes Journeymaker immediately after the announcement “Fantastic! Bungie is definitely on the right track. “

This is exactly what the players had hoped for and wanted from the developer. This will allow Keepers to build their builds more freely in the future without constantly having to worry about costs.

Artifact costs should also change: The general exchange of armor mods is a first step. But Bungie also wants to deal with the cost of artifact mod resets in the future. We don’t yet know exactly what is planned here. But one can assume that there will also be corresponding quality-of-life changes here.

Bungie is planning its own loadout solution in the long term

In addition to the cost of build-crafting, the option to be able to save various loadouts in-game was another important issue. If you wanted to get the best out of the activities and the endgame, you also have different builds for the different activities.

Saving builds in the game is not possible: Saving these builds and sets in the game is not possible in Destiny 2. So if you want to change your build, you have to laboriously click together again and again by hand in the game. Sometimes the players use Excel tables to keep track of things.

The only relief for this are third-party apps, which at least partially enabled the players to save their builds, such as the “Destiny Item Manager”. This tool has been one of the most helpful to many gamers for years.

If you are new to Destiny Item Manager, you should consider this option now at the latest.

The user interface of the Destiny Item Manager – called DIM for short.
What is the Destiny Item Manager (DIM)?
The app enables both PC and console players to access their vault, collection and all progress via browser and smartphone. All weapons, armor or items can be conveniently dragged onto the characters at any time using drag-and-drop. Loadouts for raids, strikes, gambits and all other activities can also be saved in the app and equipped with a click.

You can find more information about this on the website: https://destinyitemmanager.com/de/

However, Bungie is apparently also planning its own build, crafting and loadout options for Destiny 2 in the future.

More options for third-party apps

Starting December 7th, all third-party Destiny 2 apps will be able to use “free and reversible” socket promotions. That means you will then be able to apply and save all Armor 2.0 mods, weapon advantages, shaders, ornaments and ghost projections for a loadout compilation.

This gives players even more freedom: In the future, if the providers implement this, players will not only be able to use the apps to save their mods in loadouts, but also to equip them with one click if desired. It is also possible to put on complete fashion outfits.

This third-party app solution is of course a good option, but it doesn’t come straight from Bungie. Many apps are developed by Destiny 2 players who have no relation to the developer. They solve all sorts of problems and that makes many Guardians in Destiny 2 a lot easier. For example, not always having to fly back to the safe if you need different armor or other weapons during activities.

Appreciation for the app developer: Bungie would like to show the community API developers a small token of appreciation. Over the years, they invest a lot of time in their app solutions and develop them further.

With this badge, Bungie recognizes the developers of third-party apps.

There will be a new badge, the “parallel program emblem”. Bungie wants to distribute it to the many creative minds behind the apps. So if you see it in the game with a Guardian, say “Hello” and send a small thank you emote for this voluntary work that is available to the Destiny 2 community through him.

How do you like the change in the mods and the stronger integration of third-party apps? Will that make build-crafting easier for you in the future? Or do you only use one loadout for all activities and are not dependent on it?
