Diablo 3: Start of Season 25 confirmed – Soul fragments, Haedrig’s present and patch notes for 2.7.2

Blizzard officially confirmed the start date of Season 25 in Diablo 3. It will start in a few days. This time you can expect a diabolical portrait frame and the sweet-scary pet “The Dark Prince”, which the community has already loved, as gifts that can be unlocked.

When does season 25 start? The start date for Season 25 in Diablo is Friday, December 10th. As you know from previous seasons, the seasonal servers open for you at 5:00 p.m. German time. From then on you can create a new season character with whom you can then start from scratch.

The end date of Season 24 is December 5th.

Soul fragments as a seasonal theme for Season 25

What is the theme? As a seasonal theme, the soul fragments of the seven evils await you in Season 25. They are divided into three soul fragments of the great evils and four soul fragments of the lesser evils. The shards drop everywhere in Sanctuary – The chance of drops is higher with bosses.

You base them like gemstones, but only in a helmet or weapon.

  • You can base the three soul fragments of the great evils in helmets
  • You can base the four soul fragments of the lesser evils in weapons

The special thing about the stones is that they all have one basic property. There are also three additional features that you have to unlock first. The activation takes place via the new, seasonally exclusive resource “Sparks of the Hellforge”. Use these sparks on a soul shard to unlock another additional ability.

Cosmetic rewards in S25

The old rewards: Since season 17, Diablo 3 has brought old and new cosmetic rewards for each new season. The “old” ones already existed in earlier seasons. If you didn’t play at the time, you have another chance to earn it now. In Season 25 there are rewards that you know from S13.

Head and shoulder protection as well as portrait frames of the exclusive set of the conqueror as well as the pet “Blaines Bear” will be available for you.

Earn chest compartments

How does it work? In Seasons of Diablo 3 you can unlock up to five additional chest compartments. If you haven’t got all of them yet, you can do so in Season 25 by completing the Conqueror Stage. The tasks in it are:

  • Complete a nephalem portal on Torment XIII in under 5 minutes.
  • Complete a level 60 Greater Rift in Solo mode.
  • Kills greed for torment XIII.
  • Kill Cydaea in Torment XIII in under 15 seconds.
  • Reforges a Legendary or Set Item.
  • Upgrade an ancient item with a legendary gem of level 50 or higher.
  • Upgrade three legendary gems to level 55.
  • Complete two achievements.

The achievements in Season 25

What’s the point? To unlock the pet and other rewards of the season travel, you should complete achievements. These change from season to season. In S25 there are the following achievements (normal mode / hardcore mode):

  • Sprinter / speed mania
    • Complete Acts 1 through 5 at the maximum level within one hour
  • Simply divine / heart of a lion
    • Complete a level 75 Greater Rift solo
  • Cursed and sewn up / Who would have thought?
    • Kill 350 or more monsters in a Cursed Chest event at level 70 and at least Agony 10
  • Otherwise it would be too easy / superhuman
    • Complete a level 45 Greater Rift solo without carrying a set item
  • Masters of all classes / game, set and win
    • Complete eight of the selected set dungeons
