Company brings bright orange PC case to build yourself – looks like a toy

Do computers always look gray and dreary? One company is now showing that there is another way and presenting a case in bright colors that you can assemble yourself as if from a construction kit. A YouTuber tried the case.

This is what it’s about: Gray, black or even blacker. Computer cases have a reputation for offering little to the human eye. Often the inner workings such as the graphics card or the fans flash like a billboard. A housing that flashes or is at least colored is seldom seen.

But now a manufacturer shows that there is another way. Teenage Engineering has presented the “computer-1” case, which appears in bright orange and is more reminiscent of a construction site or warning signs than of a gaming PC.

The YouTube channel “Hardware Canucks” has tried the case and is clearly impressed. The price of just under 190 euros seems high, but you get a high-quality case for your money, even if the assembly allows few errors.

This is what the finished case looks like on the desk. In addition to the design, the bright orange is also noticeable.

A cool but extremely compact PC case

Why is that special? The special thing about the case is not only the color, but also the way the case is built. Because in the scope of delivery you only get the punched plates, screws and other accessories.

Then you have to assemble the complete housing yourself. This is reminiscent of kits from Fischertechnik or model construction from Revell. When assembling, however, you have to be extremely careful, as the YouTuber explains. Because if you bend a component the wrong way, it is difficult to undo the mistake.

“Hardware Canucks” tests the Mini-ITX case from Teenage Engineering

Unsuitable for a gaming PC

For a full-fledged gaming PC, the housing is only partially suitable, explains the YouTuber. Because the housing is only suitable for mini-ITX mainboards and graphics cards must not be longer than 180 mm. Many common graphics cards are significantly longer or require a lot of space due to their cooling. Tips and hints on what to look out for when buying a case can be found on MeinMMO.

There is enough space in the case for a processor with an extensive cooling solution. The YouTuber also explains that the temperatures in the case are surprisingly good. But you also have to note that he did not install a processor with a fast GPU.

Are you looking for inspiration for a cool case? MeinMMO presented 7 PC cases in an article that are guaranteed to make you jealous. Many of the cases are inspired by well-known games or films. Maybe you can find inspiration for your upcoming build there yourself.
