The Game Awards 2021: What announcements are there and when will it start?

The annual “The Game Awards” show will take place on the night of December 9th to 10th. Even if Awards are in the name, most of them are expecting a long show full of new announcements and updates on upcoming games. MeinMMO tells you what you can expect now!

The Game Awards take place once a year and review the past year of games. Moderated by Geoff Keighley, the main focus is on the eponymous awards. Most of them, however, take a back seat, while new game presentations and trailers for upcoming titles dominate.

What games, films and series can you expect from the Game Awards 2021?

These films and series could be there: In addition to video games, the Game Awards also feature heavily in films and series this year. The announcements are limited to video game adaptations and game-related topics. Among other things, the following films and series are expected:

In the summer of 2021, Geoff Keighley presented gameplay for Elden Ring for the first time. This is a new game from Dark Souls makers From Software and has been eagerly awaited by fans since the first reveal at E3 2019 (via youtube.com). According to Keighley, four to five new games should fall into this category of excitement and hype.

That’s a big promise, and there are plenty of hot contenders for this maximum of five spots. Shocking news: Grand Theft Auto 6 is not included. Keighley confirmed that in an AMA on Reddit (via reddit.com). Games that are expected by fans are:
