An exciting Free2play title is coming up that looks really great. A trailer for the new co-op shooter Arc Raiders was shown at the Game Awards. This is being developed by Embark Studios. Studio founder Patrick Söderlund was CEO of DICE, known for the Battlefield series. We’ll tell you what to expect on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S in 2022.

That’s behind Arc Raiders

It’s all about this: A nearly three-minute trailer for the new free-to-play shooter Arc Raiders was shown at the Game Awards. Behind the game are the Embark Studios, founded by ex-DICE CEO Patrick Söderlund. The game is due to appear on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S in 2022 and the material shown was impressive.

What kind of game is Arc Raiders exactly? The game is played from the third person view in a team of raiders who have to defend themselves against an enemy invasion. The attackers are mechanized aliens who overrun the raiders’ home planet.

This is what the trailer shows: In the trailer we see graphically impressive, detailed landscapes that come across as really atmospheric with their different lighting moods. In addition, there is of course a lot of action, for example in the fight against drones. Probably the most striking scene shows a raider squad dealing with a huge spider-like mech.

Creativity asked

As gamesradar.com reported that Embark Studios would like to serve up a new kind of co-op gameplay called. It is about more than just assigning ammunition to a weapon, but rather the fight demands “untested creativity”. Söderlund explains:

We started out at Embark Studios three years ago as a blank canvas with some big ideas. Today the canvas is not so empty and these ideas are becoming a reality.

With the new trailer, the studio wants to give players an impression of what the title feels like. An exact release date is not yet known. So far we only know that the shooter awaits us next year.

Does this trailer make you want to plunge into the fray?
