Fortnite ruins popular mode – new update made it even worse, fans say

There is a popular mode in Fortnite called “Group Wedges”. However, this was changed in Chapter 2 in such a way that players no longer dare to enter the mode. With Chapter 3 bringing many changes, fans were hoping for a comeback, but it got worse.

What is group wedge? In group wedges you were placed in a team of 20 players. Your task was ultimately to achieve a predetermined number of points in order to win the match. The specialty of the mode was the looting on the whole map and the respawn after a death.

So you were driven over the map in a battle bus and had the choice to land anywhere you wanted, without any restrictions due to the storm. After that you had enough time to collect your equipment and plunder places.

Unfortunately, it is no longer the way group wedges were. A lot of things have changed and the mode is no longer fun for many.

No weapons, moving storms and no time to explore and loot

What has been changed? In the middle of Chapter 2 the mode was changed. You were thrown onto the map with random weapons and a fast-paced storm with no time to plunder. For many this was on the clock, because it made fun and serenity flutter. They wanted the old mode back, but it got worse rather than better.

After further updates, even the ready-made loadout was removed and moving storms introduced. So you now spawn in a smaller map, without weapons and with a storm that permanently changes direction. That’s why players ask themselves who came up with the idea of ​​changing a functioning mode into the negative. No changes were necessary.

What do the players say? Fortnite fans don’t understand the ongoing deterioration. You can’t understand why changes like a moving storm or spawning on a smaller map were considered good at all. Players write on reddit:

Yes, they made this chapter worse. Instead of spawning with some weapons, you now spawn without weapons. Do you want to know how many players are on your team? We won’t tell you. I literally did a match to collect some Shanta shards and then left. It is a literal shell of his former self.

It becomes clear that no one approves of these changes and that many want to get to the roots of group wedges. How the mode will develop now remains questionable. The fact is, however, that hardly any player agrees with the changes.
