GTA Online: New Update The Contract arrives today – time and content to download

Today, December 15th, the new update “The Contract” is available for download in GTA Online. We show you the time for the start and the known content such as cars and weapons and a major leak.

What kind of update is that? The release of the big winter update “The Contract” from Grand Theft Auto Online is pending. Franklin Clinton, whom you know from the GTA 5 story, has an important role in it. There is also new music on the radio, missions, weapons, cars and story.

When does it start in Germany?

  • December 15th – probably between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The release will take place on December 15, 2021. There is no official release time for the update from Rockstar Games itself. If we assume the release times of the last updates, a time between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. German time would be expected.

But Rockstar Games knows how to surprise. Exactly a year ago, on December 15, 2020, the team released the big Cayo Perico update. At that time, the update rolled out for users around 11:00 a.m. – first on the console, then on Steam and the Rockstar Games Launcher. It is possible that one also selects 11:00 am as the start time for the “The Contract” update.

What is the content of The Contract?

New story: Fans were amazed when Franklin Clinton was featured in the announcement and trailer for “The Contract” update. He is one of the protagonists from the story mode and is now celebrating his big comeback with an agency. However, he still lacks connections to the celebrity world, which he receives from none other than his buddy Lamar Davis.

To prove himself, Franklin is supposed to use rap legend Dr. Get back Dre that he lost on his trip to Cayo Perico. Because there was important music on the cell phone that has now ended up in the wrong hands.

New weapons: In the Newswire preview for the update, Rockstar Games already announced the compact EMP launcher and the stun gun as weapons.

New properties: Officially known are “The Armory” and “The Agency” as new properties that you can buy.

New cars: The Enus Jubilee and Dewbauchee Champion have already been unveiled by Rockstar Games.

What was leaked? A comment from an insider in the GTA forum is causing a stir in the community (via gtaforums.com). There, user WildBrick142 – who also correctly predicted the spawns of the treasure chests – writes what awaits you in the new update:

  • Four locations for the agencies
  • You can customize the agencies with art, paints, wallpaper, private areas, an armory and vehicle workshop
  • The story will have a heist structure – smaller missions that end in a finale
  • From your agency contact, you can use services such as conjuring up an SUV, disappearing from the radar or finding a bike nearby
  • There will be 15 new vehicles – Cinquemila, Reever, Shinobi, variants of Granger and Baller, Deity, new variants of Patriot and Buffalo and a new variant of the Comet as a convertible as well as the two presented vehicles Jubilee and Champion
  • The update includes three new weapons – the EMP launchers and stun guns that have already been introduced are joined by the heavy sniper rifle
  • New color variants for weapons such as a Christmassy Up-n-Atomizer
  • Many new items of clothing such as T-shirts, earrings, hats, masks but also tattoos
