GTA Online: The Contract reveals what happened to Michael after GTA 5
The update missions The Contract in GTA Online mainly revolve around Dr. Dre.
GTA Online got tons of new content with The Contract: Additional story missions, lots of new music and of course new cars, weapons and so on. But there is also a small but fine detail for all story connoisseurs who have been thinking about what actually became of the protagonists of GTA 5 for years. We have good news for them: In addition to Franklin, Trevor and Michael also seem to be still alive. At the same time, this means that only one of the three ends of GTA 5 can be the definitive end and thus also canon.

This is what it’s about: GTA Online players can look forward to a lot of new content right now. The Contract is the name of the last big update that brings us a new radio station, some new story missions around Dr. Dre, Franklin’s agency, brought two new cars and two new weapons. Michael is still alive: In one of the missions around Dr. We jet our missing smartphone in the golf cart through a film studio. Franklin explains that he knows one of the producers there and that he hopes he won’t have to work that day. Which means Michael, because at the end of GTA 5 he takes a job right there. That obviously means that Michael will still be alive in 2021 and will continue to do this job (via Kotaku).
End of C is canon: At the same time, this probably also means that the third end of the three possible ends of GTA 5 is what must now be generally regarded as canon. In variant C, all three protagonists survive and that seems to be the current state of affairs, at least in the world of GTA Online. That Trevor is still alive could already be seen some time ago from a line of dialogue from Ron that was added with an update.

Where’s the next gen version? Anyone who is currently waiting for the PS5 and Xbox Series S / X version of GTA 5 to play the new content with fancier graphics will have to be patient a little longer. Actually, the Next Gen- aka Current Gen reissue should have appeared long ago, but the launch was postponed to March 2022.
