Players in CoD Warzone are being brutally dismantled by a fairy tale monster

The Christmas event has started in CoD Warzone, but it doesn’t just bring gifts. During their rounds, players are mercilessly hunted and brutally dismantled by the monster Krampus. That makes for a lot of funny situations.

This is what happens in Warzone: It has now become a tradition that in most MMOs and multiplayer games, various events start at Christmas time that bring bonuses and cosmetic items. This also happened in CoD Warzone.

In the course of the “Festive Frevor” event, players can solve various tasks and win gifts in the process. But that’s not why everything is calm and contemplative in Warzone, because the game also lets the nasty Krampus loose on its players. And this one has it all.

For a few days, Krampus has been slaughtering his way through the matches and woe to anyone he gets into his clutches. These players are brutally dismembered by the fairy tale monster. The user Niarbrebyc demonstrates exactly what this looks like on reddit:

The figure of the Krampus traditionally comes from European folklore. He is a terrifying figure who accompanies St. Nicholas in some versions. While Nikolaus gives presents to good children and makes them happy, Krampus punishes the bad and naughty children. In the modern media and de pop culture, the horror figure was often used in horror films such as A Christmas Horror Story. You can find more about Krampus on Wikipedia.

Krampus causes chaos during the matches

This is why Krampus is a problem: While the fairy tale monster usually only deals with children in folklore, in CoD Warzone it was spiced up by the developers. After all, it has to fight heavily armed players with machine guns, rocket launchers and pistols.

He appears randomly in various Warzone matches and targets a player whom he then ruthlessly hunts down. So if you get the message that you’ve landed on his list of naughty kids and are being followed by Krampus, make sure you have plenty of ammunition.

The wild chase by Krampus has given many CoD players quite a shock, because a chase with the monster ends in most cases in a very bloody death of the player.

For the spectators and unaffected players, however, Krampus is a good show and provides a lot of amusement. So it can happen that even your squad mates do not rush to help you because they are too busy laughing.

Even in private matches, the players weren’t safe from Krampus at first. The player ZooMaa from the FaZe Clan tweeted desperately that the training sessions of the pro team were really mixed up by the fairy tale monster:

“WTF is that Krampus thing in private matches ?! Are we trolled !? We can’t even train. “

Is Krampus Immortal? But even if it doesn’t look like it in the videos, Krampus isn’t immortal. When it has eaten enough damage, it disappears briefly and teleports to another location near you. That happens 4 times until he finally drops dead.

He leaves behind a lot of loot, 1,000 EXP and a lot of money. But you should fight him outdoors if possible, for example in an open place or on the beach, in order to be able to keep Krampus at a better distance. This means that you are not pushed into a corner by him and you can kite him in a circle if necessary.

What the developers say: The developer Sledgehammer Games responded to the complaint about the private games on December 18th and reported on Twitter. They explained that Krampus will no longer appear in private games, this was changed by a quick hotfix.

But the elves who lead the players to cool loot will also no longer appear in such matches. So there will be a little less loot.

How do you like the Krampus and the Elves so far? Has the monster caught you or your squad mates before? Write us about your experiences in the comments.
