Dying Light 2 – No uncut version for Germany and the most brutal feature is missing

There will be no uncut version of Dying Light 2 in Germany for the time being.

Many had already feared it, now it is official: Dying Light 2 will not appear uncut in Germany and will receive a special version in this country that will be published in purely digital form for the release on February 4th. Developer Techland confirmed this in a press release on the game.

A German, uncut version including USK 18 age rating will therefore only be available from dealers in Austria and Switzerland.

Differences to the uncut version of Dying Light 2

According to Techland, that is Decapitation and dismemberment of human opponents deactivated in the German version. In addition, it is not possible to kill neutral NPCs. The story and the basic gameplay, however, are not affected.

However, there is still hope for a version of Dying Light 2 that is more true to the original or intended by the developer studio. Further versions of the action game should be submitted to the USK, which may pass the examination process. If we learn something new here, we will inform you about it.

Since it is Techland’s stated goal to present the game to German players as the developers imagined, they will keep the special German version as close as possible to the international version.

Koop mode can only be played regionally: As can also be seen from the press release, players from Germany will only be able to use the co-op mode within their region for the release. Techland, however, promises to expand the feature to other regions as quickly as possible.

Of course, the main question was whether, after many postponements and a sometimes difficult development time, a possible game highlight awaits us in a few weeks.
