Pokémon GO. Trainers are disappointed with how Niantic deals with a big mistake in the raids

In Pokémon GO, raids are particularly popular with trainers. Many try to get hold of dazzling monsters there. However, there was a recent bug in which a monster was not available as Shiny for the full time. We at MeinMMO show you what happened and why trainers are now disappointed and angry.

What kind of shiny is it about? The dragon-Pokémon Shardrago made its debut in Pokémon GO during the Dragon Descent Event from December 7th to 12th, 2021. In addition to its normal shape, it has also been available as a shimmering specimen since then. It was mainly found in level 3 raids throughout the entire event. When the Shiny was released, however, there was an error.

What mistake did Niantic make?

As Niantic announced shortly after the release of the Dragon Pokémon, there was an error in the game with the Shiny variant (via twitter.com). Accordingly, the dazzling Shardrago was not available for the first 4 hours.

After a few days had passed, Niantic announced on the evening of December 17, 2021 via their official Twitter account that the trainers concerned should receive appropriate compensation:

In their post they write: “Trainers, after the dazzling Shardrago could not be found in the first 4 hours after its release, we granted 3 remote raid passes to all trainers Shardrago encountered during this period. We apologize again for this mistake and thank you for your patience. “

Under the Twitter post and on reddit, however, more and more voices of disappointed and angry coaches are loud.

Why are the coaches disappointed and angry?

As you can see in the comments on the Twitter post, numerous coaches have not received their compensation. So the following is written (via twitter.com):

  • robincanfield: “I’ve been waiting for my passports for over 24 hours.”
  • Bryanrobledo93: “I didn’t get my passports”
  • comte_w: “I earned it in the first 4 hours after its release and got nothing. Where are my 3 remote raid passes? “
  • ninaheartsmuse: “Hello Niantic, I carried out remote raids during the affected period and did not receive the 3 remote raid passes I had promised. I was offered a general response from support that I should have received it, but I still haven’t received it. A lot of the other players I know are still in the same boat as me. Thank you”

And on reddit, too, some affected trainers comment that they do not receive the relevant remote raid passes. The players are particularly angry that Niantic support has told them that they are not entitled. However, the coaches played during this time.

So Hhhhh6 writes: “I did some remote raids and took a screenshot of the time and so on. I sent a message to support and they said they couldn’t find a record of me conducting a raid during that time window, so I was denied remote raid passes even with evidence. So annoying. ” (via reddit.com).

Criticism of communication

When dealing with this error, however, communication is also sharply criticized. As can be read under the individual Twitter comments, the trainers concerned should contact Niantic directly via Twitter and describe the matter. This is particularly critical of the reddit community, which is now concerned that it will not be heard (via reddit.com):

  • TheBlueLenses: “So if you never had Twitter (and didn’t see the tweet), were you basically scammed out of those raid passes?”
  • ruok4a69: “Since the inception of Ingress, Niantic has always had the problem of using multiple platforms to communicate with and support the player base and not use any of them effectively. I can now see that this problem is still there. “

Cravenj1 does not believe, however, that Niantic only shows more consideration for Twitter users and writes: “I do not understand it to mean that only those who complain on Twitter get 3 raid passes. It seems to me that the proverbial squeaky wheel on Twitter is getting a quicker or more targeted response. ”

In addition, he is convinced that, based on the data collected, Niantic can query who played in which period in order to compensate them.

Incorrect compensation

While many players complain about the missing raid passes, other reddit users report another bug. According to their statements, they in turn received compensation even though they did not play at all during this time (via reddit.com).

Sroth99us wrote: “I received the free passes and did not comment on your tweet. I’m also pretty sure that my first Shardrago raid took place a day later. “

As Amillibofan101 writes on reddit, Niantic has informed him that all trainers affected have been correctly compensated. It remains open at the moment whether Niantic will compensate the missing coach. If there is any new information on this, you can of course find out about it from us on MeinMMO.

How do you find Niantic’s handling of the problem? Are you affected yourself and haven’t received your raid passes either? Or were you lucky and your compensation worked without any problems? Feel free to write your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers.
