The best weapon currently in Battlefield 2042 – this is how you use it and that makes it strong

After a few major patches, the weapon meta changed a lot in Battlefield 2042. We’ll show you which weapon is currently the best in the game – and a strong alternative.

Most of the battles in Battlefield 2042 take place in large, open spaces. Most of the opponents are therefore far away from you.

This is also due to the fact that at least on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S battles with up to 128 players are possible – twice as many as before. For this, the maps have also become significantly larger.

This is where the AK-24 comes in. This fully automatic weapon not only shines with its incredibly good damage: Good players can almost completely compensate for their greatest weaknesses.

This weapon dominates in Battlefield 2042

The AK-24 is currently the best weapon you can play in Battlefield 2042. Since you already fold it at level 11, it is also your best choice for your early game hours.

What are the strengths of the weapon? Even with the standard setup, i.e. without unlocked weapon attachments, the weapon is a monster. It is the weapon with one of the best TTKs in the game, especially at medium distances. Although it has a fairly high vertical recoil, you can easily compensate for this with a little practice – and then the weapon is very precise.

In addition, thanks to its 3 fire modes and flexible attachment options, it is a good choice in almost every situation. The right attachments make it even better:

The best attachments for the AK-24:

• Visor: K8 Holo (otherwise individual preferences)
• Munition: Standard version or standard model / drum magazine
• Lower course: Light rattlesnake handle or LWG handle
• Run: Arcom Tactical Muzzle Brake or Warhawk Compensator

Why these essays? The AK-24 has hardly any horizontal recoil, but rather strong vertical recoil. That is why we primarily use the Arcom Tactical Muzzle Brake. But we also take the Warhawk compensator with us in case the vertical recoil becomes too much.

To unlock the drum magazine with 50 rounds, you need 360 kills. It’s a long grind. Until then you have to be satisfied with the standard ammunition.

For the lower reaches we use the light rattlesnake grip to keep moving aggressively and to make us more difficult to hit. For those moments when we need precision at a standstill, we have the LWG handle with us.

What are the weaknesses of the weapon? The 2 biggest weaknesses of the weapon are its relatively small magazine up to the drum magazine and the vertical recoil. Good players can compensate for both, be it through skill or with the right essays.

How do I use the AK-24 correctly? Perhaps the AK-24’s greatest strength is its versatility. As long as you can handle recoil and keep an eye on your ammo, you should be able to compete with almost every other weapon in the game. And in her territory, the middle distance, she is almost unbeatable in the right hands.

The SKV is a strong alternative

Another very powerful weapon in the current Battlefield 2042 meta is the SVK – the most powerful DMR in the game.

Why is the SVK so strong? Overall, the SVK is as strong as the AK-24. And that, although basically has only one real strength. But it makes you sit up and take notice: it does the same damage to the body as a sniper rifle. Their handling and rate of fire is much better compared to a sniper.

Thanks to the large maps in Battlefield 2042, the precision and high damage of the SVK is important. At long range, DMRs like the SVK are more deadly and easier to use than assault rifles. This makes them a safer choice for most game situations. The fact that DMRs cannot fire automatically is then of little importance.

The best essays for the SVK:

• Visor: K8 Holo and Bravo 3X (otherwise individual preferences)
• Munition: High-Power
• Lower course: Light rattlesnake handle or cobra handle
• Run: Shortened run

Why these essays? The most important essay is the shortened barrel. To unlock it you need 210 kills, but it transforms the weapon. Thanks to that, you have a significantly higher rate of fire with the SVK. That helps mend their biggest drawbacks. You can use the weapon much more aggressively – even if that should remain an emergency solution.

What are the disadvantages of the weapon? The weapon becomes very imprecise if you move around while firing (via reddit). This mechanic is supposed to prevent you from being hit too hard with such a powerful weapon.

Even if their handling and rate of fire is significantly better than that of snipers – these values ​​are not good compared to the other weapons on the list. With only 5 bullets in the magazine (plus one in the barrel) you have to show near-perfect aim to use this weapon well.

How do I get the most out of this weapon? The SVK is even more difficult to play than the AK-24, but overall it is similarly strong – significantly stronger over long distances, but significantly worse in close combat. Where the AK-24 adapts to the player’s style of play, the opposite applies with the SVK: You have to play exactly the style of play that the weapon demands of you. Otherwise it becomes very frustrating very quickly.

That means, as long as you patiently shoot your opponents while standing still, she is an absolute monster. But as soon as you want to play aggressively in any form, it will quickly let you down. So this weapon is perfect for those who want to show off their aim but don’t want to shoot enemies from hundreds of meters like snipers. SVK users should therefore defend control points instead of trying to conquer them.
