An important streamer and big fan says: “CoD Warzone feels dead with a new map”

TimTheTatman (31) has been one of the big streamers since the release of Call of Duty: Warzone with many thousands of followers for Battle Royale, first on Twitch, now on YouTube. Tim always tries to be in a good mood and a homely atmosphere, but he has problems with the new version of Call of Duty: Warzone that came with Vanguard. He says the new map Caldera just feels dead.

Who is the streamer?

  • Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar has long been one of the big shooter streamers on Twitch. He built his career in Overwatch and as a whipping boy for ninja in Fortnite, until he really took off on Twitch with the release of Call of Duty: Warzone. He became one of the top 10 biggest streamers on Twitch. Since the release in March 2020, he has been one of the great defenders of CoD Warzone.
  • He had his success gilded in 2021 and accepted an “An offer you can’t refuse” from YouTube, now he’s still streaming a lot of Call of Duty Warzone on the new platform:
  • TimTheTatman is a bearded streamer who can laugh at himself, likes to play the “dad who is slowly going bald and can no longer do the same as the young people” and always tries to keep his chat in a good mood. But he is now clearly at odds with the new Map Caldera.

What bothers him about Caldera? TimTheTatman says the map change will make Call of Duty: Warzone feel “dead”:

I don’t see anyone on the map anymore, everything takes forever. In Verdansk you really fought against people. The new card just always feels dead.

The design of the new map means that you will meet fewer people than in Verdanks. Apparently that really worries him:

Five minutes go by and you don’t see a single other person here. On the old map, you saw ten times more people in the same amount of time.

Streamer thinks people could stop CoD Warzone because of the new map

That is his criticism: TimTheTatman criticizes the new map for the fact that the game just doesn’t feel as lively as on the old map. He could spend minutes in the game without meeting another player. That worries him.

That could be a “self-fulfilling” prophecy: if the game looks like it’s dead and no one is playing it, more and more people could quit Call of Duty: Warzone and it actually dies.

People die too quickly – objects prevent you from seeing others

How do his viewers see it? TimTheTatman is considered someone who has been defending CoD Warzone for 2 years and loves it. So he’s not like DrDisrespect, who threatens to uninstall CoD Warzone every 5 minutes and never even look at it again.

In the criticism now, however, many of his viewers agree with Tim:

  • “You are absolutely right, Tim. It’s the way the map plays – the design. […] You can’t see anything, just palm trees and rocks. “
  • “To be honest: I think it’s because the card is so open. People just die much faster. “
  • “It’s because you can’t have a fight without a third or fourth intervening – that’s why everyone dies quickly and the whole card is open.”
  • “You probably won’t notice this on the PC, but almost everyone on the console has INCREDIBLE graphics problems that make the game UNPLAYABLE.”

At the beginning, the first reactions to the new map were even more positive:
