Pokémon GO: All January Spotlight Hours and Their Bonuses

All the spotlight hours with bonuses, Pokémon and times in January 2022 at Pokémon GO are known. Four dates await you in the month. We’ll show you when there’s candy and stardust as a reward.

What kind of events are these? The Spotlight Hours run every Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Pokémon GO. A specific Pokémon is in the spotlight and will spawn almost anywhere in the wild during the event. A bonus is always active on these event evenings, which rewards you with more stardust or candy.

In the following overview we show you all the dates for the limelight hours in January 2022 with shinys and bonuses.

Remember these Pokémon: In the weeks of January, the following Pokémon are the focus of the Spotlight Hours:

Spotlight Hour on January 4th

Which Pokémon do you meet there? In the first spotlight hour in January 2022, the fifth generation of the game’s psycho-Pokémon Monocyto awaits you. It can evolve into Mitodos and then in turn into Zytomega.

What bonuses do you get? For sending Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candy.

For whom is it worth it? Neither Monocyto nor any of its evolutions are interesting for combat. As a psycho attacker, you are much better off with Pokémon like Mewtwo. So use the spotlight hour to collect for your PokéDex or send your collected Pokémon for more candy.

Can you catch Shiny Monozito? No, Shiny Monocyt is not available in Pokémon GO.

Spotlight Hour on January 11th

Which Pokémon do you meet there? At this time you will meet the ground Pokémon Digda. It can evolve into Digdri. There is also an Alola version of Digda, which is probably not part of the event.

What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of stardust.

For whom is it worth it? Neither Digda nor Digdri are particularly valuable as attackers. You should use the hour to collect stardust.

Can you catch Shiny Digda? Yes, you can catch Shiny Digda in Pokémon GO.

Spotlight Hour on January 18th

Which Pokémon do you meet there? The electric Pokémon Plusle awaits you for the third spotlight hour in January. It comes from the third generation of the game and cannot develop any further. Together with Minun it forms a duo.

What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candy.

For whom is it worth it? Plusle has nothing to report in raids or coach fights. There are much stronger electric attackers like Melmetal or Zapdos that you can fall back on if you want to play with electric Pokémon.

Use the hours to do raids and get the double candy when you catch them.

Can you catch Shiny Plusle? Yes, you can catch Shiny Plusle in Pokémon GO.

Spotlight Hour on January 25th

Which Pokémon do you meet there? The last spotlight hour in January is with the electric Pokémon Minun. It comes from the third generation of the game and is the counterpart to Plusle. It cannot evolve.

What bonuses do you get? For sending Pokémon, you will receive twice as many candies.

For whom is it worth it? Just like Plusle, Minun is not a particularly good attacker that you should definitely catch. Use the hour to clean up your Pokémon collection and secure more candy for shipping.

Can I Shiny My Fangen? Yes, you can catch Shiny Minun in Pokémon GO.
