German Twitch streamer breaks world record on Christmas Eve – donors bellow

The German Twitch streamer Anastasia Rose has on December 24th. put down a Christmas stream and received piecemeal donations of over 1 million bits from a single viewer, that’s more than 10,000 euros. She couldn’t believe the donation and yelled at the donor several times to please stop. That wouldn’t work at all.

Who is Anastasia Rose?

  • The streamer actually works as a nurse in intensive care in Berlin, but converts her garage into a DJ station several times a month and then plays as a DJ. A local newspaper called her the “Vorpommersche Girl on Fire” (via prignitzer.de) In addition to her Twitch channel, Anatasia Rose also drives channels on YouTube (12,400 subscriptions) and Instagram (46,000 followers).
  • During the corona pandemic, Anastasia Rose discovered Twitch, has been streaming since March 2020 and has gained 111,000 followers during that time. According to Twitchtracker, she is currently the streamer with the most subs in Germany, ahead of MontanaBlack and her music colleague Sinitica. “Subs” are paid subscriptions that viewers use to financially support their favorites on Twitch.
  • As the Twitch leak revealed, music is apparently a good way to earn money on Twitch: The best-earning streamer in Germany, Sintica, is also a DJ and originally comes from the radio.

1 million bits – in small doses

What was that record? On Christmas Eve, the streamer received several donations in the Twitch currency “Bits” from the user GamblerHH. The donations ended up adding up to a million bits.

According to the streamer, that’s a world record for the most bits of one person in a stream.

Careful, loud. The streamer can hardly believe the donation.

How many euros are that? It’s not that easy to say because Twitch sells the Bits at different prices depending on the quantity:

  • If the donor had bought 25,000 bits 40 times, he would have paid € 12,914.80.
  • If he had bought the 300 bits 3,334 times, it would have been € 10,468.76 – that would probably be the cheapest tariff.

What is the advantage of bits? In the meantime, many streamers flinch, especially when it comes to large donations. Because in the past these were often “fake donations”, which were then booked back by the donor via PayPal, which is extremely annoying for everyone involved.

A bit donation itself cannot be reimbursed.

Streamer reacts somewhere between panic and bewilderment

How did the streamer react to the donation? Anastasia Rose reacted slightly panicked or stunned to the bit donations that were gradually coming in. Again and again she called out that the donor should kindly leave it behind. Wondered if there was maybe a mistake and looked overall, quite incredulous what happened to her on Christmas Eve.

She even forgot to put on music: “My music is empty,” she said at one point.

It happens again and again that “relatively small” streamers on Twitch experience a surprising financial boon, which in some cases can be life-changing:
