WoW Classic: Naked AFK paladin ambushes poor merchants

The Paladin Rextroy strikes again – this time in WoW Classic. Naked and apparently afk, he ambushes his enemies, who find a quick death.

In World of Warcraft Classic, the rules of the game world are a little different. There aren’t that many ways to do one-hit combos here – but there are a few combinations. The notorious paladin Rextroy has set himself the task of finding and using these mechanics to surprise a few unsuspecting players – and that is even possible as a quasi-naked paladin, only equipped with a weapon, helmet and jewelry. And loads of explosive toys.

What does Rextroy do? What he does best: Terrorize other players a little in an amusing way. He sits down apparently afk and almost naked on some busy street in the game world. On a PvP realm, a naked player from the opposing faction, who is also an afk, is a found fodder. Quasi a small “honor snack” just waiting to be collected quickly.

But in fact Rextroy is not afk and is just waiting for this moment. As soon as he is attacked, he starts a combo that knocks some players completely out of the sand. Almost 3,000 to 4,000 points of damage can be done in a fraction of a second.

What kind of effects are used there? Rextroy, as usual, combines a whole host of effects and explosive items that engineers or other professions can craft:

  • Helm of Fire – A leatherworking helmet that has a “use” effect and hurls a small ball of fire at the target.
  • Goblin Bomb Dispenser – A piece of jewelry that conjures up a small bomb that explodes on the closest enemy.
  • Goblin Engineer Blasting Charge – A consumable item that does high damage.

In addition, there is another talent that Rextroy uses for maximum efficiency:

  • Reckoning: After the paladin was critically hit, his next automatic attack hits multiple times. This buff can be stacked up to 5 times, so that a single hit hits 6 times.

Combined with the “seal of command”, this is so much damage that fabric carriers are almost completely carved out of the mountain pines.

What’s so nasty about that? Above all, the spontaneous invisibility through the “gnomish concealment device” is nasty. Because it ensures that it looks as if Rextroy has simply “phased away” to enter a battlefield. Most players should have been all the more astonished when Rextroy pops up afterwards, a few seconds later, out of invisibility and simply shoots the attacker out of life in a firework of effects.

However, this is not a permanent, efficient farm method. This is mainly due to the fact that the invisibility alone already has an hour’s cooldown. So all the fun can only be done once an hour and even then requires a lot of preparation time and luck, as individual effects can be withstood.

So if you’re in Classic and see a supposedly defenseless, naked AFK paladin sitting on the street … you’d better avoid it.
