OR setup in CoD Warzone uses 2 shotguns at the same time: “Who thought that was a good idea?”
With the Pacific update, CoD Warzone received almost 40 new weapons from the fresh offshoot Call of Duty: Vanguard. Fans are now experimenting with the new ratchets and are always finding new, absurd setups – such as absolutely deadly shotguns, of which you can carry 2 at once.
What weapon is it about? Under the simple name “double barrel” you will find the last shotgun that you can unlock in Vanguard. The weapon, actually designed as a hunting rifle, comes standard with one shot per barrel and a short range.
You unlock the double run at level 49 in Vanguard. Since the Pacific update and Season 1, however, it has also been playable in Warzone.
Although another shotgun takes the top rank in our best weapons from Vanguard, the double barrel can really score in Warzone. The reddit user LordTuxego shows in 10 minutes of gameplay how he takes down rows of opponents – sometimes with one shot:

How does the setup look like? The double barrel setup relies fully on hand-to-hand combat. LordTuxego only uses 7 attachments for the scenes shown:
- Muzzle: M97 full choke hole
- Barrel: Sawed off
- Shaft: Removed
- Munition: Brand
- Handle: fabric handle
- Skill: Akimbo
- Kit: Fully Loaded
What makes the setup strong? With the attachments, you are strong and extremely mobile, especially at the shortest possible distance. You forego accuracy in order to be quick on your opponent and literally press the barrel in his face before you fire.
The damage is sufficient to partially kill opponents with one shot. If this or the 3 added cartridges are not enough, the fire damage to your incendiary ammunition will do the rest. The double barrel setup is ideal for run & gun gameplay.
However, the great strength of the setup is the Akimbo approach. Running around with two deadly shotguns at once, make yourselves … well, twice as deadly. Fans on reddit see it similarly.
There it says about Historical-Arrival61: “I thought they were crazy when they brought double pistols – and now shotguns? Never in their life did they sit in the office and think that was a good idea. “
SupaflyIRL also says: “Who could have predicted that double-barreled short-barreled shotguns would be overpowered? Just ignore the closet full of ‘literally always when there were double-barreled short-barreled shotguns.’ “
What should i be aware of? Despite the efficiency in close combat, you have 3 major disadvantages if you use this setup:
- with 2 sawed off shotguns your range is short even for shotguns
- since you only have 4 shots with a lot of dispersion and recoil, you will hardly be forgiven for mistakes
- to get the attachments, you have to grind properly – Akimbo is only available at weapon level 61
Since you have more penetration and higher cadence compared to other shotgun setups, at least your lethality is higher. Even with missed shots, you are still quite likely to kill. If you are looking for something at other distances, visit our other strong setups for Warzone:
