According to an industry insider, things are currently not looking good for the exclusive title.

There are currently not many exclusive titles for the Xbox. We are all the more excited about those who are still in the works. As for the Breath of the Wild-like adventure Everwild, however, we should perhaps be careful with our hopes. At least if we are to believe what an industry insider recently made. Allegedly, the development is extremely chaotic.

Insider speaks of chaotic developments

It’s all about this: Journalist and industry insider Jeff Grubb speaks in the last issue of XboxEra-Podcast about some exclusive titles for Microsoft’s consoles. It’s also about Everwild, which is developed by Rare – known among other things for Sea of Thieves. There was bad news about the adventure for Xbox One and Series X / S back in the summer:

Complete restart: Everwild was absent from E3 in June and both Grubb and VGC reported that the title had started all over again with a new creative director. Other important positions were apparently filled and Grubb was speculating on a release in 2023 at the earliest, possibly also in 2024.

In this trailer you can see how Everwild has presented itself so far:

That is new: Now the industry insider comments again on the game and explains that Rare is understating when it comes to the problems with the development. He himself sees the game as “a real mess” and continues:

she [Rare] try to be diplomatic when they’re in public and say something like, ‘Oh, people hear things like the creative director left and there was a reboot and that’s an exaggeration’.

However, according to Grubb, this is not an exaggeration. The insider is convinced that the developers are still in the process of figuring out where the game should go.

All in all, this sounds very unsettling and suggests that the release window could move even further away if Grubb’s information is correct. In addition, the podcast was also about Obsidian’s leaked Murder Mystery game. It is said to be a Disco Elysium-inspired RPG set in the 16th century. According to Grubb, the game will be released in 2022.

Have you been looking forward to Everwild and what do you think of these statements?
