Fortnite was offline one evening, Epic promises “compensation” in 2022 – are there any gifts?

There were big problems in Fortnite on December 29th. The servers were down for about 5 hours – many players couldn’t play one night between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Scandal! Demands for “compensation” quickly became loud, and players even asked for rare skins or V-Bucks as compensation. In fact, there appears to be some type of compensation for the downtime in 2022.

Was war in Fortnite los?

• On December 29th Around 5:13 p.m. our time there were connection problems with Fortnite. There were long queues, players did not get into the game smoothly.
• After 7:13 p.m. our time, nothing worked. The servers were down, Fortnite could no longer be played.
• The problem persisted until about 12:30 a.m., then the problem resolved again.

Epic Games wants to help “make up for lost time”

Is there any compensation? Epic Games says: “We will tell you what we are going to do to help you to make up for the lost time. “

It sounds like Epic Games wants to give the players something, but maybe more bonus EXP or progress in the Battle Pass than what they want.

Players demand V-Bucks or extremely rare skins to compensate

What do you want Player? The biggest demand is clearly for “V-Bucks”, the in-game currency that players can use to buy all sorts of cosmetics they want.

There are also requests for certain, extremely valuable skins that existed years ago in Fortnite, but which hardly anyone has: such as the Renegade Raider, the reward skin for Season 1.

What was there before? In the past, in 2018, it was roughly the case that players received “battle pass stars” as compensation for server downtime, i.e. more of a “purpose-related compensation”.

It will be interesting to see how Epic Games will compensate the players this time for not being able to play Fortnite for 5 hours. It doesn’t look like it will be V-Bucks.
