Pokémon GO Starts New Years Event Today – What Happens On New Years Eve?

The New Year event in Pokémon GO starts today, December 31, 2021. Many costume Pokémon and Shinys as well as fireworks appear on New Year’s Eve. We show you all the bonuses of the event here.

When does the event start? Today, December 31st, the event starts at 10:00 p.m. local time. That will run until next Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Special research continues: Since the beginning of December you have been researching special research on the season of origin in Pokémon GO. It should continue for the New Year’s Eve event. You will find details here on MeinMMO as soon as they are known.

There is also a new Temporary Research that starts with the event.

Fireworks: As you already know from other events, there will be fireworks in the game. This starts on December 31st at 11:00 p.m. local time and is then active until January 2nd at midnight.

Event-Bonus: The event’s bonuses focus on the hatchable eggs;

• Double candy when hatching Pokémon
• The brood distance is reduced by half
