The top 5 player wishes who would make Pokémon GO better in 2022

The old year is now over and the new one is already in the starting blocks. And in Pokémon GO 2022 will certainly have lots of great events, Pokémon, bonuses and functions ready again. We at MeinMMO have taken a look at what the coaches want for the future in the game and show them to you.

Why is? Pokémon GO brought you lots of great monsters, bonuses and features in 2021. Be it the release of Hoopa or the improvement of the Pokédex.

But even in 2022, many trainers would like new functions, monsters and special features. We’ll show you what 5 great wishes the coaches have that would make the game even better.

Ingame-Chat

For several years now, the trainers in Pokémon GO have longed for in-game chat. The reason for this desire is better communication between the coaches in the game. Social networks such as Facebook or Twitter, as well as instant messagers such as WhatsApp or Discord, are currently often used for agreements.

In the game itself there are currently no ways to contact each other, which would be very helpful, especially when arranging raids together or swapping as lucky friends.

What are the chances of an in-game chat?

Although there were first indications of this from Niantic in June of this year and many coaches hoped that the long-awaited in-game chat that the game needs, nothing has happened so far.

Some trainers suspect that Niantic has concerns about child and youth protection (via reddit.com). This criticism is not unreasonable, because after all, many children also play Pokémon GO.

Still, in-game chat would make the game a lot better. So we can only hope that Niantic will find alternative ways to establish such a function in the game in 2022.

The suggestion could possibly be taken up by the reddit user Mega_Vaporeon, who could imagine that the establishment of contact via an in-game chat on the special children’s accounts can be blocked (via reddit.com).

GO button for raids

Another important request that the trainers in Pokémon GO have been expressing for some time is a so-called “GO button” in the raid lobby. The long waiting time before the raid actually starts is criticized in particular. This is currently 120 seconds.

While you want to wait for as many participants as possible in level 5 or mega raids so that the raid can be completed faster, the trainers sometimes fight alone in the lighter raids. Then it is rather annoying that you have to wait the full time until the start.

Trainers want a “GO button”

Here the trainers see the solution in a special button that activates the raid. So you could activate this start button as soon as you are ready for the fight and it would start without a long wait. Many players were hoping for this feature with the raid update in June and are convinced that Niantic has missed an opportunity.

Perhaps Niantic will be carried away by such a “GO button” in Pokémon GO in 2022, thereby fulfilling a great wish of many trainers. However, there are currently no known plans for this.

Kecleon’s release

This wish is not about a special feature for the game, but about the last missing Pokémon in the Hoenn region: Kecleon. The normal type Pokémon, which looks like a chameleon, has been required by many players in Pokémon GO for a long time.

The main reason for this is the Pokédex entry. This is necessary to get the platinum medal for the Hoenn region. Kecleon himself is not particularly strong, but has a special gift. Like a chameleon, it can adapt its color to its surroundings and only its zigzag pattern on the belly remains visible.

Kecleon

Niantic commented on this Pokémon in an interview with Eurogamer a few weeks ago and said they were working on a debut for Kecleon (via eurogamer.net).

Michael Sterenka (Director, Global Product Marketing) also stated that this monster is a special monster because of its gift and that they therefore want a release that does justice to Kecleon.

Even if you have to be patient for a while, we can still hope that the time will finally come in 2022 and you can catch Kecleon.

Exchange at a distance

Of course, swapping in the community is also an important topic. Many trainers now have numerous friends who live in other regions around the world, through live events or with the help of social networks.

Often parcels are sent on a daily basis so that you can finally become a “best friend”. If you continue to have regular interactions, then the lucky friend status can be achieved.

That means you can then swap a monster, which is guaranteed to be a Lucky Pokémon and therefore doesn’t have that bad values. Here at MeinMMO we explain exactly how you can become friends of happiness.

Luck friends receive Lucky Pokémon when they swap

However, since these friends can live far away and you may never see them in reality (again), an exchange is currently not possible. For this reason, many players are demanding what has existed in the main series for decades: a corresponding function in the game that makes it possible to swap at a distance.

According to the reddit community, this does not even have to be permanently available or apply to all exchange campaigns. Many trainers could also imagine that there would be certain events or tasks that allow an unlimited route to be exchanged (via reddit.com).

Alternatively, some trainers, such as Kdog0073, have suggested in the past the introduction of a kind of “long-distance swap pass”, which you get, for example, if you have run at least 50 km in a week (via reddit.com). To what extent Niantic can come up with a solution for this remains to be seen for the time being.

Skipping animations

The most annoying processes in the game for many players are the constant animations. However, many of these animations cannot simply be skipped and the trainers must watch them patiently. One of these appears when you evolve Pokémon.

So that you don’t constantly lose valuable playing time by looking at the uninteresting animations, coaches have been asking for the option to skip these sequences for a long time. Even though Niantic recently released an update in which opening eggs is now faster, many players continue to hope for such a function.

Squirtle became Schillok

So wrote wolfdizz on reddit: “Unfortunately we cannot skip the evolution animation.” And also shaliozero agrees, “I would still prefer to completely close and skip those screens with a single press of the back button.”

So far there is no official information that such a function is planned in Pokémon GO. So we can only hope that Niantic will accept the wishes of the community in 2022 and let animations be skipped in the future.
