Corona at CE Timmendorf: Games in Adendorf and against HSV canceled

The corona virus continues to spread in the ice hockey regional league team CE Timmendorf. After the first positive result, there are now more suspected cases in the Beach Devils team from the Baltic Sea. As a first consequence, the village derby scheduled for Friday (January 7th) at the Adendorfer EC was canceled.

Timmendorf’s game against HSV also canceled

In the evening it was clear that the home game against Hamburger SV planned for Sunday (7 p.m.) would not take place in the Timmendorfer Eissport- und Tennis-Centrum. It is still completely unclear whether the Beach Devils will be able to compete again on January 14th (against ECW Sande) and January 16 (at the Salzgitter Icefighters).

Last training at the Baltic Sea on New Years Day

On the one hand, coach Michael Pohl’s team was last on the ice on New Year’s Day, all training units in the first week of January were canceled as a precaution after the first positive corona test. “The boys’ health has absolute priority. We will do everything we can to keep the risk of further infections as low as possible, ”explained the CET coach.

Ice hockey regional league closed for the PCR test

On the other hand, the Beach Devils from the Baltic Sea have the problem that the responsible health department is completely overloaded and there is still no decision as to who should also be in quarantine as a contact person. The only thing that is certain is that the entire team will do a quick test every day for at least a week to clarify any further corona infections.
