When will Update 1.5 for Cyberpunk 2077? This is the question many would-be legends of Night City are currently asking themselves. CD Projekt RED has already revealed some – albeit unspecific – information about the first major patch in 2022. We summarize all known information. As soon as we learn more, we will update this article.

Patch 1.5 release window

According to CDPR, Patch 1.5 should appear at the same time as the upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. The Polish studio has not yet revealed an exact period for the release, but has given a period.

In the first quarter of 2022, both patch 1.5 and the next gen upgrades await us. Or in other words: sometime between January and April.

Is there any information about the content of Patch 1.5?

There is no concrete information about the contents of Patch 1.5. However, we already know that this will be a comparatively large update that, in addition to the upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S, should have numerous bug fixes, improvements and most likely new content for Cyberpunk 2077 in its luggage.

Most recently, a rumor spread via 4Chan made the rounds that Update 1.5 will bring among other things a transmog system, revised AI, new weapons and a separate garage for main character V (via GameStar). However, CD Projekt RED denied this rumor a short time later.

Why does CDPR skip Patch 1.4?

With patch 1.3, the last major update to Cyberpunk 2077 appeared in August 2021, which, in addition to numerous improvements and bug fixes, brought the first free mini-DLC with it. As a reminder: This includes, among other things, a new vehicle and a stylish jacket for V.

Logically, the version number of the next update would have to be 1.4, but CDPR skips this and instead promises Patch 1.5.

The reason is simple: As CDPR CEO Adam Kicinski said in an investor call (via GameStar) explained, all content and improvements that were originally intended for patch 1.4 will be bundled in a large patch 1.5. In addition, the studio wanted to emphasize with a “round number” that the next patch will be a really “big update”.

What does the upgrade bring for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S?

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently only playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S via backward compatibility.

As Marcin Iwinski promised in December 2020, the next-gen versions of the RPG should “fully exploit” the technical advantages of the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. We don’t know any more details yet.

The full-fledged next-gen upgrade should be completely free. The PS5 and Xbox Series X / S versions of Cyberpunk 2077 will also cost the same as the PS4 and Xbox One versions.

In addition to patches and upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S, further free DLCs for the action RPG are to follow this year. However, concrete content is not yet known.
