WhatsApp will introduce the profile photos in the notifications
WhatsApp notifications will change including the profile image of the contact who writes us.
WhatsApp is already testing in the beta version of iOS one of the novelties that came with iOS 15 and that messaging apps can use. Is about profile photos in system notifications. A more than interesting function, which not only gives extra information, it also looks really good.
Apple introduced this novelty in iOS 15 and it is something that the native Messages app already uses, as long as the contact has a photo assigned. Apple allows any messaging app include this function, and it seems that WhatsApp is already developing it.
The first new feature of the year is finally here, and I’m sure it will be greatly appreciated by some iOS beta testers – WhatsApp is now rolling out a very nice feature that shows profile photos in iOS system notifications!
New notifications on iOS
This new function already appears available to some users of the public beta of WhatsApp for iPhone. Presumably, the app is working on incorporating this novelty, and that throughout the next WhatsApp updates it could reach all users.

As you can see in this screenshot of the new WhatsApp notification shared by WABetaInfo, instead of showing the WhatsApp icon to the left of the notification, as it happens now, we have a profile picture within a circle of the contact that sends us the message.
WhatsApp has added support to include profile photos in notifications when you receive new messages from chats and groups. This feature has been released to some beta testers only on iOS 15 as it uses API from iOS 15
This new function is very interesting, which also takes advantage of one of the latest APIs released by Apple. Which means that WhatsApp is attentive to the latest news offered by new operating systems.
