Destiny 2: Underrated SMG turns into a cold killer with the right perks

After the Dawning Event ended this week in Destiny 2, the Guardians grabbed their new weapons and made the Crucible unsafe. Here it has been shown that a small, frosty SMG in PvP, with the right perks, becomes a fast, efficient and therefore ice-cold killer.

Only a few guardians had the small killer machine on their 2021 breakout wish list in December.

• Too little zoom (13 without plus)
• Much too small range (46 without plus)
• and only a 750 rate of fire

For some players, these were reasons enough to ignore the machine gun from the Christmas event. In terms of its values, it cannot keep up with the top MPs, such as “Shayura’s Wrath”, and is considered to be rather unstable.

And yet, it has now been shown that a well-rolled weapon can make all the difference in any activity in Destiny 2. Even if it doesn’t have much to offer at first glance and is not a meta.

What weapon is it? We are talking about the SMG “cold front”. Destiny 2 players were able to “bake” the submachine gun from Eva Levante during the Dawning event in 2021 via gift packages in return or receive it as a drop from NPCs supplied with cookies.

In a recently published video, the player OmniBready shows his new “cold front” to the community in action. With the right perks and a little luck with the opponents, the SMG becomes a real winner in PvP mode “Control”.

No over-sign helps: Even the protective shield, which players in Destiny 2 automatically receive after respawning in PvP, easily knocks away the SMG. The enemy has hardly spawned properly and is already dead. He didn’t even have the opportunity to react, the small submachine gun sends him back to the ice-cold Down so quickly.

What makes the weapon so powerful? Basically, the cold front is still a rather average submachine gun. In the video shown, it is mainly thanks to the perk “Harmony” that the Guardian was able to clear away his opponents so quickly.

• “Harmony” causes killing blows with other weapons to temporarily improve the damage and performance of the weapon.

So that the weapon can score, it is necessary to have landed kills with another weapon beforehand. Only then can you benefit from the advantages and get the maximum out of your weapon at the moment when the perk is active.

How strong is the “cold front” in comparison?

The player’s impressive performance in dealing with the “cold front” is certainly outstanding. However, there are actually much better alternatives that can also drop with the perk “Harmony”.

Our comparison clearly shows why the “cold front” could not score with the keepers.

The rather powerful PvP submachine gun “Shayura’s Wrath” can only be earned by players in the exclusive PvP mode “Trials of Osiris”. In comparison, it has a 600 fire rate, but an enormous 17 zoom (without perks or visors). In addition, there is the outstanding range and the high aim assist. Overall, the Trials-MP consistently impresses with strong values ​​and plays more like an automatic rifle.

The difference between the two weapons is that anyone could get the “cold front”, and it was very easy to do. She’s not the top killer, but she shouldn’t be underestimated either.

Don’t forget: With every weapon, personal preferences play an equally important role. If you can’t get along with a weapon at all, or not at all, then even the best perks won’t always help.
