Final Fantasy 7 Remake relies on contemporary graphics, a new combat system and a fresh perspective, but the old perspective also has something.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake gives the venerable PS1 classic an all-round rejuvenation. This also means that we have to say goodbye to the fixed perspective and are served a classic third-person view. Nevertheless, the new edition provides many cozy nostalgia moments. But they could be significantly reinforced if the classic PS1 perspective were an option. You can see what that would look like in this video.

Final Fantasy 7: This is how cool the remake would look with the original perspective

This is what it’s about: Final Fantasy 7 is one of the most popular and perhaps also groundbreaking JRPGs that have ever appeared. Accordingly, many fans were delighted with the remake. The third person perspective is one of the changes that should make the game more contemporary. As a new video now shows, the classic fixed perspective would also work wonderfully with the new graphics.

Old fans can indulge in nostalgia again really hard. It is also impressive to see how much the new edition is based on the original of the PS1 – despite the many changes and improvements. This doesn’t come out as well in normal gameplay as it does here when the perspective is changed and the image is zoomed out.

‘Nur’ Proof of Concept: Anyone who hopes to be able to play the entire game from this perspective will be disappointed. The whole thing is just the video evidence that it works and how cool it would look. Modders may be able to use the video as inspiration for a corresponding mod. At least that’s what the person behind this video hopes. The mod would still have to be programmed and would then only be available on the PC anyway.

More about the Final Fantasy 7 remake:

With the PS5 version Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, at least the first part of the new edition has also been released for the PS5. It took a few months, but it also includes the Yuffie DLC. How it looks with the second part of the remake remains a little unclear at the moment. There is no official release date or the like yet, but the differences to the original should be significant.

How do you like the old camera perspective combined with the new remake graphics?
