Nintendo: Mario Kart 9: New Nintendo racing game “with a twist” should be in development

It’s been a while since Nintendo released a new main part of Mario Kart. With Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the most recent offshoot for Nintendo Switch to date came onto the market in 2017 – this was, however, a new edition of the 2014 racing game for Wii U. Nevertheless, the game is currently the one with 38.74 million units best-selling title on the Nintendo Switch. Now there are reports that the next part of Mario Kart should be in development.

The information comes from the industry analyst Serkan Toto, who in the past has repeatedly distinguished himself with correct statements, especially in the field of Japanese companies. In his statement it says that Nintendo will give the series a “new twist”. However, the expert did not reveal what it was all about. For some time now, fans have wanted a new part of Mario Kart to go the way of Super Smash Bros. and also bring familiar characters outside of the Mario universe into the racing game. The analyst expects an announcement later this year. Most recently, two more games outside of the main series were released with the mobile offshoot Mario Kart Tour and the switch spin-off Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.
