PS5 & PS4: Several insiders believe in huge Playstation event in February

Insiders believe in an imminent state of play.

For a long time there were rumors that Sony wanted to revive the PSX in December. It didn’t come to that, but postponing is not canceled. Apparently the Playstation team is now planning a big event for February, presumably with the “State of Play” format. This is the conclusion reached by two insiders who were very often right in the past.

Who are the two leakers? One is the NGT Twitter account, which last correctly predicted Star Wars Eclipse from Quantic Dream and even had assets up its sleeve. In one Q&A he revealed that there will be an event for PS4 and PS5 earlier this year. On the other hand, it is once again Tom Henderson who has a hand in the game. Regardless of NGT, he states that there will be a state of play soon, and “a pretty big one”.

When will Sony’s first State of Play supposedly take place in 2022?

Neither of the two leakers knows an exact date, and apparently these are sometimes set very spontaneously. However, based on the data, Henderson believes it will be broadcast in the February.

Of course, this has not yet been officially confirmed. So enjoy the information with caution, even if you are dealing with reliable insiders.

Hogwarts Legacy reportedly on the State of Play

There was some information in the PSX rumor, some of which has already been proven to be true. This includes Sony releasing details about Playstation VR 2 and announcing a Horizon spin-off for VR that has turned out to be the Horizon Call of the Mountain. But that was not all.

Time and time again, we’ve heard that Sony’s next event will finally have a new trailer for Hogwarts Legacy. NGT indirectly confirms this by saying that WB Games will release new information on the Harry Potter title earlier this year. You can read more details about why Hogwarts Legacy has disappeared under the surface for so long here:

What else could be shown at the next State of Play?

Announced games coming soon: Sony got involved right at the beginning of the year Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7, two blockbusters, both of which could be shown with a launch trailer. And with Forspoken, another ambitious PS5 exclusive is due in a few months.

Then there is Babylon’s case of Square Enix and Platinum Games and the martial arts game Sifu – both also console-exclusive for Playstation. And maybe we’ll see something about Elden Ring, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin or Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, all of which will be released in the first quarter.

Game Rumors: And then there are the unannounced games simmering in the rumor mill. These include Sly Cooper, Crash Bandicoot: Wumpa League and Resident Evil 4 Remake, all of whom were tested in a PS5 commercial. A new Silent Hill has long been announced – allegedly there are even two offshoots in the works. Last but not least, there is a remake of the PS1 classic Chrono Cross in the room.

Do you believe in a Playstation event at the beginning of the year? And which titles would you like for the show?
