There is no folding iPhone because Apple believes it may be a “fad”
Apple does not stop trusting the technology of folding smartphones and for that reason we do not have an “iPhone Fold”.
For years we have heard rumors about the “foldable iPhone”, and we know from all this information that Apple is working on it and has several prototypes on the table. However, the company has not decided to release it just yet, and a new leaker says he knows why.

Many doubts with folding smartphones
The doubts that Dylandkt says Apple has foldable smartphones with are the same ones shared by the majority of the market. Only a handful of brands, with Samsung as the main supporter, have dared with this market, and none has succeeded.
The first folding smartphones don’t seem to fix any current problems, and introduce some new ones as an inferior wearing experience due to the plastic screens and creases that form in the crease. As it well says DylandktThey look like prototypes put up for sale.
While other manufacturers are iterating on products that are seemingly in beta, Apple is keen to make sure the design isn’t a regression from the current iPhone form factor. They are interested in playing long-term to see how the technology progresses.
So it seems clear that we will not see a foldable iPhone in 2022. Apple wants to see if the technology evolves as it should before launching into this market. We already know that when Apple makes a change, it is because they truly believe in it, and It does not seem that the design of a folding iPhone improves the current one.
