Halo Infinite: Pro allegedly cheating in a tournament that was worth almost € 10,000 – Check out the clip

Halo Infinite has another cheating scandal in the pro scene. A pro accuses another of using wall hacks in an online tournament. It was about 10,000 euros in prize money.

What happened? Minds, an American esports player in Halo Infinite for the Built By Gamers team, is said to have used cheats. At least that’s what Roman “Druk” Nasirudin, also a Halo professional, says.

This is said to have happened in a weekly online tournament organized by the NFT collective Magic Mushroom Clubhouse. In this tournament there was 10,000 dollars to be won (the equivalent of around 9,000 euros).

One of the losers now says: There was a cheater among the winners.

Video clips are supposed to prove wall hacking

What are the allegations? After Minds and his team won the tournament, Druk reported on Twitter and YouTube. There he shows several “suspicious clips” that are supposed to show Minds while cheating. Specifically, it should be about wall hacks – i.e. cheats that reveal the position of opponents through walls.

You can get an impression of these scenes for yourself in the Druk Twitter thread. These clips are supposed to show that Minds aimed and shot at players he couldn’t see:

The match that Druk shows here, his team Pioneers lost to Built by Gaming as close as possible: 50 to 49. He says that is also due to a cheater among the opponents.

Nickmercs, a well-known streamer and pro with esports team FaZe, also responded to these clips. He also thinks Minds is suspicious and writes: “Isn’t that the guy who beat us in Rivals?” (via Twitter).

Druk also says Minds was banned from another Halo tournament on January 9, 2022 after evidence of cheats was reported (via Twitter). The Pioneers player does not provide any evidence for these claims.

Accused player dismisses allegations

How does the accused react? Minds also responded to the allegations in a tweet. There he writes:

I am very saddened by the fraud allegations that have been brought against me today. I am not a cheater and take this game very seriously and would never endanger my career with cheats. I am open to any necessary research.

The organizers of the tournament have not yet made an official statement.

These cheat allegations are not the first in Halo Infinite. Just recently there was a cheat scandal in this young esports scene. In the tournament hosted by the Halo developers, a player was found guilty by Team Sentinels and suspended for the time being:
