LoL: Riot Games launches an investigation into the chief of the USA’s most important team

29 year old Andy “Reginald” Dinh is the boss of Team SoloMid, the largest and most important team of League of Legends in the USA. Now Riot Games says they are opening an independent investigation against him. Because the head of TSM is accused of having abused employees and LoL players.

Who is Reginald?

This is now the announcement: As the magazine “WIRED” reports, Riot Games has commissioned an investigation against Reginald. A statement from Riot Games said:

We are aware of the allegations made against the CEO / owner of TSM. As the operator of the league, we have hired O’Melveny & Myers LLP to conduct an independent investigation into allegations of abusive behavior against the head of the team […]

What are these allegations? The allegations are centered around the player and streamer “Doublelift”, who said Reginald was a “bully”, a kind of “schoolyard bully” who repeatedly put his players down in such a way that they started to cry

Doublelift Says Reginald is like a schoolyard bully who can get away with being a bad guy because he’s so powerful that people are afraid to rebel against him.

As evidence, clips from various professionals from the past showing Reginald in action were cited (via Youtube).

However, players who were seen in these clips have already defended Reginald and said he only wanted the best for his team. He is just a “passionate owner”.

These are new allegations: WIRED now says they spoke to four people who have witnessed incidents in which Reginald “verbally abused” players and employees:

• He is said to have called employees “stupid” and “worthless”.
• He also called her after work to yell at her.
• Sometimes Reginald would whip people down for hours. His tirades would be triggered by small mistakes.
• In addition, Reginald is said to have yelled at employees in front of the assembled team to “make an example”. He should have been proud of that. That’s what a former TSM employee said, according to Wired.
