Rainbow Six Extraction has crossplay and all information about it is here

Go into battle with players from other platforms? You can do that in Rainbow Six Extraction.

Rainbow Six Extraction is the new co-op shooter from Ubisoft, in which you have to deal with aliens either alone or with up to two other players and do different tasks in defined areas. Since the game should ideally be played in co-op, the question of whether Rainbow Six Extraction offers cross-play naturally arises.

And indeed, the shooter offers one full crossplay functionality, not just cross-gen between the PlayStation or Xbox systems, but actually cross-platform. In this way, players from all platforms on which the title appears can play with each other, i.e.

  • PS5
  • PS4
  • Xbox Series X/S
  • Xbox One
  • PC

Are there any requirements for crossplay? Yes there is. Because in order to be able to use the crossplay functionality, you have to get a free one Ubisoft Connect-Create an account and then link it to the account of the respective console. How exactly does it work you can find out here.

The link with the Ubisoft Connect account ensures that you can find and invite other players via the menu, even if they are currently on other platforms.

Also cross-save and cross-progression on board

In addition to cross-play, Rainbow Six Extraction offers other cross-platform functions. Cross-Save allows you to save your game status even across platform boundaries – for example, if you have Extraction installed on multiple systems, and Cross-Progression ensures your progress – also across platforms.

For this too – you already guessed it – it is necessary to link the platforms used with the same Ubisoft Connect account, the Ubisoft service then acts as an interface between the different systems.

Cross-platform yes, split screen no

However, there is bad news for anyone looking forward to couch co-op at Rainbow Six Extraction. Unfortunately, the shooter does not support local co-op mode on a console and therefore cannot be played in split-screen.

But Ubisoft offers a “Buddy Pass” for Extraction. Whoever purchases the game can invite up to two friends to join their squad, even if these people do not own the game. Access is valid for 14 days from redemption – which should be enough to get a comprehensive impression of the game.

Rainbow Six Extraction is probably the most unusual series offshoot so far, after all, you are not competing against terrorists, but aliens. You can read more about the peculiarities of the game and our impressions in the preview of Eleen.
