Streamer says: He staged his ban on Twitch – now wants to sell more sweaters

The top streamer Disguised Toast recently caused a stir on the internet. Because he spoke in a tweet of a month’s vacation, from which some concluded that he was banned for 30 days. Now the streamer claims that all of this was purposely staged to troll the Twitch community.

What is the background? In the wake of the recent bans on Twitch stars such as Pokimane and HasanAbi, who were streaming copyrighted anime series live, the streamer Disguised Toast has apparently also been hit. He was suddenly banned during the final episode of the Death Note series.

He then announced on Twitter that he would take a month’s vacation. Many were shocked because they assumed the streamer would have been banned for 30 days.

But now it turns out: Everything was staged and the 30-day ban was on the wrong track. But why does Disguised Toast do that?

Who is Disguised Toast? Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang is a Canadian streamer. He started his career on YouTube and then streamed on Facebook for a while. He returned to Twitch in 2021. It has 4 million followers and an average of 10,000 viewers.

Toast probably staged everything, wanted to expose the naivety and gullibility of the Twitch community

What exactly did Toast do? As Toast claims based on a chat log, he asked a friend on January 5th to carry out a DMCA report against him. This is a copyright infringement report.

Meanwhile, Toast happily continued streaming the Death Note series and waited for a response from Twitch. It came a good week later, just before he streamed the whole series.

The spell was actually real, but it only lasted 48 hours. In the meantime, he posted on Twitter that he would have to take a month’s vacation and many fans and colleagues were appalled.

What was the big revelation? But no sooner was Toast’s ban over after 2 days, he reappeared in the stream and made a fool of everyone:

People really believe everything they see and hear, don’t they? I said you would see me again in a month and everyone believed it. I didn’t say why I was banned, and people just made up reasons.

The ban is one month? Or he must have received several strikes. People said, oh dammit, this toast guy sure didn’t expect to get a DMCA strike for watching anime. Well, the DMCA strike was what I was actually expecting. The only unexpected thing was how long it took.

At the end of his stream, Toast reveals another reason for his behavior.

Why did I do that? I think I was bored. After all, I have nothing new to offer.

Then Toast stands up, stretches out in front of the camera and “by chance” reveals a gray hoodie on which his Toast logo can be discreetly seen.

Be fans congratulations toast on the successful trolling and maybe he is now selling a couple of hoodies as well.

Incidentally, streamer Ludwig had long warned that anime streaming could lead to serious problems.
