iPhone sales skyrocket at Samsung’s home

Apple sales in South Korea soared 24%!

There is no record that Apple does not seem willing to achieve. And after a great 2021 and at the gates of what could be its most important year those from Cupertino continue to conquer the most important markets. Of course these include parts of Asia and South Korea, the home of Samsung.

The most recent audit report has revealed new data that Apple’s sales in South Korea soared 24% year-on-year to hit $5.97 billion last year. Apple’s South Korean unit, Apple Korea Ltd., posted 7.1 trillion won ($5.97 billion) in sales from Oct. 1, 2020, to Sept. 30 last year.

The iPhone 13 increases its popularity in Asia

This has been the first time Apple Core publishes its audit report since that country’s unit became a joint-stock company in 2009. Under Korean law, limited liability companies with more than 50 billion won in annual sales must disclose financials.

It also reflects that net income for the mentioned period was 124.3 billion won, slightly down from the previous year’s net profit of 127.04 billion won.

According to an industry insider who asked not to be identified, despite strong sales, profits are modest due to high investment costs.

“Apple Korea has been preparing to open a training center for Korean SMEs and developers and an R&D center, which could have caused a decline in profits”

A similar phenomenon has also happened in China, where the iPhone 13 has achieved very good sales since its launch, with six consecutive weeks leading sales in that country. And the expectations do not stop increasing, with the wait for the iPhone 14, with which Apple could release some of the most anticipated features, such as the Notch-less design.

iOS 15 is already installed on 72% of iPhones launched in the last four years
