How big is your TV?

Televisions have been an integral part of our everyday lives for decades. They have evolved steadily, becoming ever flatter and ever larger. How are the televisions of the MeinMMO readers?

“Tube”, “box”, “Glotze”, “Slipper cinema” and many other less flattering nicknames have been given to the television over the past few decades. Nevertheless, the devices have become an integral part of our lives.

TV sizes are usually measured in inches. The distance between two diagonally opposite corners is measured. The inch specification only refers to the visible image, without the housing, which is practically the same for modern flat screen televisions these days.

An inch is about 2.54 centimeters. If you apply it to the standard sizes of TVs, it looks something like this:

  • 43 inches is about 102 cm with side dimensions of 97×57 cm
  • 55 inches is about 140 cm with side dimensions of 124×73 cm
  • 65 inches is about 165 cm with side measurements of 145×90 cm, etc.

For gaming fans, televisions have become interesting thanks to consoles. Both the consoles and the “televisions” to which they could be connected have evolved over time.

What started as small boxes with pixelated graphics can now display bombastic graphics in 4K resolution. But while with the consoles with Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo 3 large publishers have emerged who only ever have one generation of consoles on the market, there are televisions like sand on the sea.

In addition to the different brands such as Samsung, LG, TCL or Sony, there are many different features and, above all, sizes. Some gamers even connect their PC to a TV and use it as a screen. That’s why we at MeinMMO wanted to know, do you have a TV? And if so, how big is it?

How to vote: You can tell us more about the size of your crate in the survey tool below. As always, each of you has only one vote to cast, and the vote cannot be undone.

So tell me, how many inches does your TV have? Is it important to you that the TV is as big as possible or is the size of the TV rather irrelevant? How much does the size of the TV add to the feel of the game for you? Or do you not have a telly and prefer to use PC monitors? Tell us in the comments.
