From the brand’s customer service and after-sales service, they claim to be aware of the problem and that they are currently working to discover what exactly has happened and, above all, what measures can be taken to solve the problems of software that is causing Effect 2022.

Some users claim to have received a somewhat more specific response from the after sales services that they have been informed that the fault may remain in the navigation systems until August and that, after that, it will be corrected automatically.

Same thing happened in 2017

In theory, owners could remedy the error by setting the date and time manually, but it appears that on many models this feature is temporarily disabled. In others, even if they do, the clock restarts with the data from 2002 every time the vehicle is started.

Something similar experienced Honda owners on August 16, 2017. On that day, tens of thousands of cars with navigation systems registered between 1999 and 2004 were reset to 0:00 and their calendars rolled back to January 1, 1998. It happened again on January 1, 2021 for many owners.

In all cases, the lost time adds up to 1024 weeks; so it seems to be a systems programming problem. Honda has not explained the reason and has only said that it is working on a solution; if it doesn’t find it sooner, it seems that in August the defect will be fixed automatically.
