LoL Gets New Update Tomorrow – Brings Champion Zeri and Two Big Reworks

On January 19th, League of Legends gets the new patch 12.2, which has some major changes in store. In addition to Zeri, there are also reworks for two other champions as well as a number of balance adjustments. We at MeinMMO summarize the most important things.

What are the highlights of the update?

  • The new champion Zeri is released. It is reminiscent of the champion Jinx in its playing style and especially the sound and is probably played as an AD carry on the botlane.
  • The supporter Janna gets a rework.
  • Tahm Kench also gets a minor rework.
  • The two champions Yasuo and Yone get buffs because they became too weak due to a nerf on an item in the last patch.
  • There are a total of 16 new skins that you can buy.

When exactly is the patch coming out? The release of update 12.2 will start on Tuesday, but only for the oceanic servers. We have the patch coming out on Wednesday, January 19 at 5:00 in the morning.

The patch is usually accompanied by short maintenance work during which the server cannot be reached.

Zeri is the newest AD carry in the game

What is this champion? Zeri is a new ranged fighter from the Zaun region. Above all, she convinces with her flexibility, because she can jump over walls, destroy the shield of enemies and slow down opponents.

She is intended as an AD carry on the botlane, but her abilities could also make her playable on the top lane or in the jungle.

This is what the reworks for Janna and Tahm Kench look like

What is changing about Janna? With the new update there are some buffs and general adjustments to the supporter. Her attack damage and shield have been boosted while her range and passive have been nerfed a bit:

  • Your base movement speed is increased from 315 to 330.
  • Her attack damage has been increased from 46 + 1.5 per level to 52 + 3 per level.
  • The range of her “Q” is increased from 1000 to 1100 and the “Cruise Speed” is reduced from 1.5 to 1.25 seconds. In addition, the mana costs in the endgame have been slightly reduced.
  • Her W ability gets 100 additional range, slow from 2 to 3 seconds, movement speed from 6-10% to 8-12%, and damage from 55-175 to 70-190. In return, however, the cooldown is extended to 12 seconds.
  • Jann’s “E” gets a reduced cooldown and the shield lasts longer before slowly decaying (from 0.75 to 1.25 seconds). However, the strength of the shield is slightly reduced. In addition, the passive effect is changed. Where previously CC reduced cooldown, Janna now gains increased healing and shield power when slowing champions.
  • Reduced healing per tick of Janna’s Ultimate “R” but increased ticks (from 0.5 seconds to 0.25 seconds). Overall healing remains the same.

However, there are also two major nerfs:

  • Her attack range is reduced from 550 to 500.
  • Her passive effect will be adjusted to remove the bonus damage passage based on her movement speed.

What is changing about Tahm Kench? Tahm Kench was a popular support for many years, but has recently been increasingly played on the top lane. With the rework he should be brought back to the botlane, which should succeed, among other things, with the adjustment to his gray life points with the ability “E”:

  • His “Q” now slows by 50% instead of 40%.
  • The damage to his gray life points from the “E” ability is changed. When only one enemy is nearby, it scales significantly weaker. But if there are 2 or more enemies around him, the gray life points have their old effect.
  • His ultimate “R” will be strengthened, so that the shield will be stronger in its base and will scale more with AP.
