CE Timmendorf returns to the ice

Almost the entire team of the ice hockey regional league team CE Timmendorf was on the ice during the first training session of the week. A situation that coach Michael Pohl hasn’t had in weeks. Because after the first Corona case with the Beach Devils on New Year’s Day, there was a standstill on the Baltic Sea. Five games had to be cancelled. But now the Ostholsteiner are back and will start playing again on Friday (8 p.m.) at the front runners, the Harzer Falken.

Timmendorf: Training with the handbrake on

“After the tough weeks, there is finally light on the horizon. The lads made a good impression, but of course we trained with the handbrake on and we’ll have to wait and see how well the team can take the strain. It’s almost a complete restart,” says Pohl. “It is also clear that the sporting orientation is now taking a back seat. The health of the players is our top priority.”

Ice hockey regional league Sunday in front of 50 fans

And the first weekend after the forced break is tough. After the game in Braunlage, there is still a home game against the Salzgitter Icefighters on Sunday (7 p.m.). And 50 spectators (only season ticket holders) can follow this live in the ETC according to 2G Plus rules. In order to be able to let up to 500 fans into the hall, a new hygiene concept is necessary, which then has to be approved by the responsible health authority. But that’s not possible until Sunday.

At the earliest against Sande (January 29, 7.30 p.m.) more fans could be possible in the hall. The game against the Jade Sharks is the first of the five catch-up games that CET has to complete. The games against HSV (February 4, 8 p.m.) and in Adendorf (March 4, 8 p.m.) have also been rescheduled.
