Responding to Whatsapps from Huawei Watch with HarmonyOS is already possible

If there was something missing from Huawei’s new smartwatches, it was being able to answer WhatsApp from the smartwatch. Now, weeks after its launch, we can already access this feature.

A new firmware update arrives at the Huawei Watch GT3 that will be to everyone’s liking, since it adds up and makes the watch a much more complete hardware.

As you well know, a couple of days ago we brought you an analysis of the Watch GT3 and we liked that it had practically everything a user could ask for from a smart watch, someone looking for a smartwatch would need: sensors, sports modes, measurement reliability, etc.

But we missed some extras, such as being able to reply to WhatsApp and other messages, something that is very useful in certain situations. Now we see how the update that brings this feature to the watch is reaching Watch GT3 users in Spain. It only weighs 293 MB.

The new OTA of the firmware brings, specifically, two new features: First of all, the watch receives the ability to adjust the media volume of the paired device using the rotary button on the Watch.

And second, users can now reply with preset messages or emojis. directly from the Huawei Watch GT3 every time they receive a WhatsApp.

System stability and user experience optimization of HUAWEI Music are listed in the changelog of the update. According to One-Tech ES, quick replies work with apps: WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Telegram.

Patch notes too recommend that the Huawei Health app be updated before installing the firmware update, due to compatibility issues. This update should reach users within the Huawei Health app.

As we told you in the analysis, the best thing about the new Huawei smartwatch is: its premium design, its good autonomy, its GPS and reliability of the sensors and the good general functioning of the watch.

And if we could fault it, it was the lack of compatibility of HarmonyOS with the most used apps. Luckily, this seems to be fixed with updates.
