CoD Warzone & Vanguard postpone Season 2 by weeks – “Have to do more”

Actually, the 2nd joint season of Call of Duty: Vanguard and the Battle Royale Warzone should have started promptly. But the developers announce that the new season will not start until February – they want to fix the shooters first.

This is the situation:

  • Call of Duty launches a new live season every 6 to 8 weeks with fresh content and story scraps
  • Actually, the joint Season 2 for Vanguard and Warzone should have been at the end of January
  • But the developers are postponing Season 2 to February 14 – they first want to solve the massive problems in the shooters

CoD Warzone & Vanguard: Season 2 is postponed by several weeks

What’s the matter? Call of Duty was actually about to have its first new season this year. The joint Season 2 of Warzone and Vanguard should have started on February 1st or 2nd. But with a message to the players, CoD is postponing the new season to Valentine’s Day:

  • Warzone & Vanguard Season 2
    1. New start: 02/14/2022

Why is Season 2 postponed? The developers sent a message to the community last week, showing that they understand the state of their games and feel the community’s frustration.

However, there was still no talk of postponing the new content cycle. Now the developers have a new message for their players, which they shared again on Twitter:

In the message, those responsible explain that they want to take the extra time to improve the game quality. Among other things, they address the following points:

  • Working on stability issues
  • Gameplay loop adjustment
  • General bug fixes
  • Comprehensive weapon balancing

The developers do not only want to take care of the two current titles Warzone and Vanguard. The problems in the dusty CoD MW (2019) should also be fixed. The multiplayer of the old title has also been considered very error-prone for a few weeks.

You can find the complete information about the postponement in the Blog at callofduty.com.

Are the problems really that serious? Game crashes in Warzone, missing weapon balance in Vanguard and constant bugs and glitches in both titles. CoD currently has a lot of problems.

Postponing the new season could help erase some of the current glitches. But it remains to be seen whether 2 more weeks will get the matter under control.

Call of Duty is postponing Season 2 for a few weeks and wants to finally get the problems in the game under control. What do you think of the decision? A good choice given the current conditions? Or maybe you think that in the 2 weeks it will hardly be possible to tackle the many problems in the game.
