U19 Bundesliga: MTV Lübeck welcomes HC Empor Rostock in front of up to 500 fans

First home game of the second half of the season: The MTV Lübeck youth handball team will welcome HC Empor Rostock in the Hansehalle on Friday (8 p.m.) – in front of up to 500 spectators. MTV youth coordinator Henning Ammen had to have the hygiene concept rewritten and confirmed in order to be allowed to let this number of fans into the hall and MTV trainer Mirko Spiekermann can well imagine “that many spectators will find their way into the hall”.

Spiekermann has plenty of staff to draw from

MTV could use the support of the fans. Empor Rostock won the important duel against HC Bremen last Sunday (36:29) and is well on the way to qualifying for the sixteenth final. The MTV Lübeck, who was only recently voted Team of the Year 2021, had to accept a 22:27 defeat at JSG HLZ Ahlen on Sunday – and not only wants to fight back because of that, but also wants revenge for the 25:29 defeat in the main round first leg.

Corona regulations at the MTV home game

Tickets are only available at the box office. “The 2G plus rule applies, the medical masks must also be worn on site, and there are no drinks to buy,” says MTV youth coordinator Henning Ammen. Applause is allowed, but not cheering and cheering loudly.

The guys from Spiekermann know how to defeat Empor. In the preliminary round they clearly defeated the Rostockers with 32:21. There is also positive news from the hospital: Reinhard Canzler is returning after recovering from illness. Canzler and Co. should be successful through “stable defense and efficient exploitation of opportunities”, Spiekermann points out.
