There is good news for all Call of Duty fans who prefer to gamble on Sony consoles: According to a statement from the Xbox boss, the shooter will also appear on the PlayStation in the future. After it was announced that Microsoft is looking to buy publisher Activision Blizzard, fans have feared the series could be reserved for the Xbox in the future.

CoD stays on the PlayStation

It’s all about this: The takeover of Activision Blizzard is said to cost Microsoft a whopping 70 billion US dollars. Of course, this raises the question of how the company will deal with the purchased brands, including Call of Duty, in the future. So will all franchises be Xbox exclusives in the future? No. As far as the popular shooter is concerned, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has now found clear words.

Spencer shared on Twitter:

I’ve had good conversations with Sony executives this week. I have confirmed that we intend to honor all existing agreements beyond the Activision Blizzard acquisition and that we wish Call of Duty to remain on PlayStation. Sony is an important part of the industry and we value our relationship.

The Xbox boss remains true to his line. He had previously confided to Bloomberg that he didn’t want to pull communities off Sony platforms. The statement still sounded somewhat vague, but now there is certainty, at least when it comes to Call of Duty fans. As far as other brands are concerned, we still have to wait for concrete statements.

Possibly no more annual releases

Another interesting point is that the franchise’s yearly release interval, according to a Bloomberg report is currently being checked for meaningfulness. The article said senior officials are considering extending the timeframe.

The developers believe this could be good for the community, especially after Vanguard’s weak start. In addition, longer development periods could relieve the team. This year, however, according to Bloomberg, everything will most likely remain the same.

We know that buying A/B is a hotly debated topic. We ask you to always have respectful and constructive discussions with one another.
