Google is asking users for help to fix an Android Auto issue

If from time to time your Android Auto freezes for no apparent reason, you’re not alone, and Mountain View is working on a solution.

Since Android Auto was updated to version Android 12, there have been many problems reported by the user community that have seen how this system has stopped working properly in certain cases, but also affecting certain applications such as Google Maps, and it seems that the problems keep happening.

Now there is a major and mysterious bug in Android Auto that many users are complaining about on the official Google forums about about a freezing problem of the operating system, and for no reason.

In this case the only thing that works to get back to normal is patience, because many say that taking a 10 minute break, or even unplugging the phone and car head unit, seems to solve the problem.

Android Auto, Google’s tool to use in the car as a hands-free is very useful, but it depends on a series of elements for everything to work correctly.

Right now Google is asking all those affected to provide a series of data so that they can investigate the matter in greater depth, asking them to clarify what model of car they have, what version of the Android operating system they are running, the version of the application of Android Auto and even the version of Google Play services.

This is not an isolated problem because there are several users who have this freezing error, and with different vehicles, so presumably there is something that is not working correctly in Android Auto for a few days.

If you are an affected user you can do absolutely nothing, and right now the Mountain View are working on a fix that may take weeks to arrive since they have started to investigate it.

Google wants the future to be Android Automotive, with many vehicles already embracing this new comprehensive operating system, and that it may be the solution to all these latest problems that the community is reporting.
