Players discuss whether CoD Warzone needs a complete restart – how do you see it?

The free Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone is in a bit of a crisis. Even Season 2 was postponed. Now the first players are discussing whether a complete restart could help and MeinMMO would like to know from you – how much do you think that?

This is the situation:

  • Invisible skins, game crashes, performance problems – CoD: Warzone is currently not running smoothly for many players
  • The new Season 2 has therefore already been postponed
  • Now there are first discussions about whether a complete restart of the Battle Royale might help

Restarting the Warzone – once everything new, please?

The CoD: Warzone will soon be celebrating its second birthday – in March 2022. A lot has happened since the release:

  • First map “Verdansk” plays in the current time and is constantly being expanded
  • Release of Cold War brings 30 new weapons into the game, with different stats than the previous weapons
  • Rebirth Island comes to Warzone as a new map
  • A few months later comes “Verdansk ’84” – a revamped version of the old map
  • CoD: Vanguard again throws almost 30 new weapons into play with the release – this time with 10 attachments
  • The Pacific island “Caldera” replaces Verdansk
  • With each season, more and more weapons come into the Battle Royale – at least 2 firearms
  • Each new title also brings new operators and cosmetics to Warzone

Accordingly, Warzone is currently packed with weapons and cosmetics from several CoD parts. The weapons from the various CoD games also bring other properties into play, which makes it difficult to balance the different generations.

As a result, the selection of shooting irons and cosmetics is gigantic.

Weapon choices are more or less limited by recoil – if a weapon is too difficult to play, then it’s usually not popular. But many weapons are easy to play and can keep up.

There are also countless skins for weapons and operators and hundreds of small cosmetics such as talismans, stickers and business cards.

Some players are therefore now discussing on reddit whether a “restart” for Warzone would make sense (via reddit). Delete all weapons and content, do everything again and also do without the annual content of the premium CoDs.

Some feel that the yearly integration of new CoD content causes the battle royale to fall into disrepair every time.

After the integration of Cold War, there were massive problems with the weapon balance – and that for months. After the integration of Vanguard, it is currently not so much the weapon balance, but the many errors in the game that cause frustration.

However, a restart would also mean that a lot of cosmetic content purchased with real money would disappear from the game, as well as content earned from previous Battle Passes. In addition, the favorite weapons and operators might be eliminated.

How do you feel about restarting the Warzone?

Do you have a cool idea how Warzone could evolve in terms of content strategy? Is the Battle Royale going great for you and you have little reason to complain?

We would be happy to read your further comments on the topic and discuss with you on MeinMMO.
